House Fire in Oregon City Goes Unnoticed Until Engulfed in Flames

Firefighters suggest always remembering to leave a phone number with neighbors or relatives whenever you are going to be out of your home for an extended period of time.

(OREGON CITY) - 12-22-09 at 10816 S. Buetel Road in Oregon City Clackamas Fire crews responded to a house fire this morning at 5:44 a.m. The home is located at 10816 S. Buetel Road in Oregon City. Neighbors initiated the call to 911 stating that their neighbor's house was engulfed in flames.

Clackamas Shop with a Cop Event Successful

Shop with a Cop is an interactive opportunity for police and kids to get to know one another. Any concerns that the kids may have had about police is often changed for the better.

Mark Koberstein, Secretary/Treasurer, Clackamas County Peace Officers' Benevolent Foundation, says 29 kids from Lot Whitcomb Elementary School and 15 kids from Canby each got to shop with police officers from Canby Police Department, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, West Linn Police Department and DEA.

Search & Rescue Mission On Mount Hood Suspended

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Suspends search for missing climbers.

(MT. HOOD. Ore.) - Katie Nolan and Anthony Vietti remain missing on Mt. Hood. The search for two missing climbers on Mount Hood is over. The information was released today by Det. Jim Strovink with the Clackamas Sheriff's Office.

"The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, announces with profound sadness the necessity to suspend the ongoing Search and Rescue mission conducted on Mount Hood, in Clackamas County."

Blackhawk Helicopter Joins Search for Missing Climbers on Mount Hood (VIDEO REPORT)

Oregon Army National Guard helicopter provides aerial search assistance.

(MT. HOOD, Ore.) - Salem-News.com The Oregon Guard launched a Blackhawk helicopter Monday, in the search for two missing climbers on Mount Hood.

The aircraft is a big help in searching dangerous terrain on days when avalanches threaten rescuers on the ground.

Mount Hood Search And Rescue Pauses For The Evening And Awaiting Severe Weather

Helicopters have joined in the search for two climbers lost on Mt. Hood; Katie Nolan and Anthony Vietti.

(MT. HOOD, Ore.) - Climbers lost on Mt. Hood: Katie Nolan and Anthony Vietti As of 6:30 p.m. the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, ongoing search and rescue effort on Mount Hood, has paused for the evening, according to the agency's spokesman, Det. Jim Strovink.

Sheriff Craig Roberts was on the mountain today and met with family and searchers. Sheriff Roberts emphasized, "This remains an active search and rescue mission, and the Sheriff's Office remains dedicated to this rescue mission."

Search for Two Missing Climbers on Mt. Hood Continues

This deceased climber is identified as 26-year old Luke T. Gullberg of Demoines, Washington.

(MT. HOOD, Ore.) - Climber Luke Gullberg died on Mt. Hood Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Search and Rescue Coordinators and volunteers remain actively engaged in the ongoing rescue mission on Mount Hood.

One of the climbers died on the mountain and has been recovered, but his two climbing partners remain missing.

One Climber Located Deceased on Mount Hood

The search and rescue effort continues

(MT HOOD, Ore.) - Mount Hood Oregon The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office has formally announced that Search and Rescue (SAR) personnel have located one of the missing climbers on Mount Hood.

This person was located by SAR volunteers, deceased, at approximately 10:00 a.m. on the Reid Glacier, at about the 9,000' level of Mount Hood.

This deceased climber is identified as 26-year old Luke T. Gullberg of Demoines, Washington.

Rescue Operation Underway on Mt. Hood

At least 30 volunteers are present on the Mountain engaged in this search effort. The search has concentrated on or near the Reid Glacier – at around the 9,000 foot level – situated on the western face of Mount Hood.

(MT. HOOD, Ore.) - Mt. Hood viewed from the Gresham area. Clackamas County Sheriff's Office personnel and volunteers launched a Search and Rescue mission on Mount Hood Saturday, for three missing climbers.

Det. Jim Strovink, Sheriff's Office Spokesman, says Clackamas County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Coordinators were alerted late Friday evening by a friend of one of the three climbers, that the climbing party was overdue from their climb.

Human Remains Recovered in Clackamas River

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Marine personnel recover human remains discovered floating in the Willamette River‏

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - Photo of Marine unit on Clackamas, Oregon On Saturday, November 28, 2009, at 9:30 a.m. a fishing guide and his clients recognized a deceased human body entangled in a large nest of sticks floating down the Willamette River, just below Hogg Island, on the Lake Oswego side of the river.

Detective Jim Strovink, Public Information Officer with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, says the agency's Marine Unit was alerted and responded to this reported discovery of a deceased body floating in the river.

Police Investigate Serious Crash on Highway 99E north of Canby

In addition to reported injuries, approximately 200 gallons of diesel spilled from the ruptured fuel tanks.

(CANBY, Ore.) - Crash on 99E 10-23-09 Oregon State Police, assisted by Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, have completed the scene investigation into a serious injury crash involving a sport utility vehicle and commercial truck on Highway 99E north of South End Road between Canby and Oregon City.

Highway 99E was closed in both directions as ODOT remained on scene handling diesel spill, crash scene clean up, and traffic control duties.
