Predatory Sex Offender Awaiting Trial Found Dead in Jail Cell

Billings suffered from several medical conditions including a heart condition and had a pacemaker.

(ALBANY) - Robert Allen Billings Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller reports on Sunday, Corrections Deputies in the Linn County Jail found 58-year-old Robert Allen Billings of Sweet Home, dead in his cell.

The cause of death was determined to be Coronary Failure.

Billings was arrested by Linn County Sheriff’s Detectives on January 11th, on four counts of Sex Abuse I and was awaiting trial while the investigation continued.

One Dead, Four Injured After Police Pursuit Crash

The investigation is being forwarded to the Linn County District Attorney's Office for consideration of criminal charges.

(ALBANY) - Albany wreck One person died and four others were injured Tuesday afternoon in Albany when the car the victim was riding in crashed with another vehicle while attempting to elude an Albany police officer.

OSP says at approximately 1:25 PM, an Albany police officer had attempted to stop a 1985 BMW 325E four-door with four occupants for erratic driving and speeding on Highway 20 at Burkhart in Albany.

The driver failed to stop and sped off attempting to elude the officer on area roads.

UPDATE: Vehicle Pursuit Ends in Crash: Five Seriously Injured

Waverly Drive is anticipated to be closed for several hours while the collision is investigated.

(ALBANY) - crash investigation A two minute pursuit began Tuesday afternoon when an Albany Police Officer attempted to stop a brown 1995 BMW near Santiam Highway and Columbus Street in Albany.

The officer says the driver refused to stop and led him on a two minute pursuit which ended in a traffic collision on Waverly Drive south of Grand Prairie Road.

The BMW collided with a 1995 Ford Mustang occupied by a lone driver.

The cold snap could prove deadly for the homeless, especially children and the elderly

(SALEM) - homeless With frigid temperatures expected in the Salem area over the next few days, the number of homeless trying to find a warm place to eat and sleep has put those who are trying to help in a desperate need of donations of food and warm clothing.

The National Weather Service says overnight low temps will be in the teen's to low 20's through Tuesday.

Linn County Makes Drug Bust in Albany

Seized in the raid were dealer amounts of methamphetamine, marijuana, scales, packaging material and drug paraphernalia.

(ALBANY) - Tamayo and Anderson Thursday, the Linn Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 640 SW 3rd Avenue in Albany.

44-year old Robert Lindsay Tamayo and 42-year old Lisa Ann Anderson were arrested at the scene. Both of them live at the Albany residence.

Both Tamayo and Anderson were charged with Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine and Unlawful Delivery of Marijuana. They were lodged in Linn County Jail.

Salem Police Take Wanted Carjacking Suspect Into Custody

Police arrested 20-year-old Marco Antonio Villarreal after a short stand-off at a home in southeast Salem Christmas eve.

(SALEM) - Photo: Marco Antonio Villarreal A Salem man wanted by Linn County authorities for questioning in connection with an Albany carjacking and a Talbot Road armed robbery was arrested Sunday by Salem police at a home in southeast Salem.

Salem police took 20-year-old Marco Antonio Villarreal into custody on an unrelated parole violation warrant.

Salem police spokesman Lt. Bill Kohlmeyer said they received an anonymous call from someone who said Villarreal was at the southeast Salem residence located on Buttonwood Court.

Kohlmeyer said it took officers about an hour to talk Villarreal out of the home.

Villarreal is a “person of interest” in an armed carjacking that occurred Dec. 15th outside the Albany Mervyn’s and an armed robbery on Talbot Road that occurred the following day.

(ALBANY) - Forensic sketch of unknown remains The Linn County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the discovery of human remains on October 23rd of this year by a hunter in the Big Spring Snow Park area of east Linn County.

Linn County Detectives have been working with the State Medical Examiner's Office and the State Museum of Anthropology at the University of Oregon in Eugene attempting to determine the identity of the homicide victim in this case.

Armed and Dangerous: Car Jackers Steal Again

Watch for a Burgundy, 2001 Dodge Neon with Oregon plates 897-CHH. Suspects should be considered Armed and Dangerous.

(ALBANY) - 31-year old Jason Robert Desantis and 20-year old Marco A. Villerreal, both wanted on multiple charges. The two men on the run since their car jacking attempt last week in Albany are at it again. Still armed and considered dangerous, they stole two cars Saturday, and have successfully avoided apprehension at this time.

On Saturday at 4:55 PM, deputies from the Linn County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 report of an armed disturbance at a residence in Scio.

Victim Identified in Dec 6th Fatal Traffic Crash

Fire personnel responded to the scene to put out what was originally reported as a brush fire, when they discovered the car was on fire.

(ALBANY) - The victim of the December 6th single vehicle fatal traffic accident on I-5 south has been identifired as 24-year old Elena Carmen Flores, from McChord AFB in Washington.

On December 6th at about 9:34 PM, a 2005 Toyota Corolla four-door displaying a Washington license plate was soutbhound on Interstate 5 near milepost 240.

For an unknown reason the car drove off the right shoulder and down a slight embankment, through blackberry bushes and continued about 300 feet before coming to a stop. Initial investigation indicates the car's gasoline tank may have ruptured causing the fire that fully engulfed the car.

Car Jacking Suspects At Large

Both suspects have ties to Marion County, and both are considered to be armed and dangerous.

(ALBANY) - Jason Desantis and Marco Villarreal are wanted suspects in the Friday car jacking in Albany Oregon The Albany Police Department is seeking the public's help in locating two suspects wanted in connection with an armed car jacking that took place at the Mervyn's Department store located at 410 SE Airport Road on Friday, December 15th, and began a police chase that took them into South Salem, where they lost the one suspect on foot.

The first suspect is 20-year old Marco Antonio Villarreal. Marco Antonio Villarreal is described as a Hispanic male, 5'7", 130 pounds with brown eyes, black hair and possibly a goatee.
