Slides and Unstable Snowpack Keep U.S. 20 at Santiam Pass ClosedSalem-News.comODOT advises motorists to avoid traveling through the Cascade passes today because of expectations of heavy snowfall. Other conditional closures are possible if conditions worsen. (DETROIT, Ore.) -
U.S. 20 will remain closed from milepost 75 to milepost 80 for most of the day because of the snow slides that occurred at about 6:30 AM. In addition, there is a high probability of more slides from slopes above the highway due to the unstable snowpack coupled with blizzard conditions and high wind gusts.

A Klamath Falls-area man was seriously injured and his 6-year old daughter received minor injuries Wednesday night when their pickup was struck by two commercial trucks on Highway 97 in Klamath Falls.

A Sisters-area man was arrested early Sunday morning on multiple charges after police say he tried to elude an Oregon State Police trooper on Highway 20. The man was taken into custody after a Black Butte Ranch police office successfully deployed spike strips.

A Heavy Snow Warning has been issued for the Willamette Valley of Oregon. Snow began falling in downtown Salem a little after 3:00 PM. The National Weather Service heavy snow warning will remain in effect until 4:00 PM Monday.

Police Investigate Fatal Crash West of RainierSalem-News.comHighway 30 was closed for approximately four hours while the crash was investigated. (RANIER, Ore.) - Oregon State Police are investigating a fatal crash early Sunday morning on Highway 30 about one mile west of Rainier that led to the death of one person and serious to critical injuries of three others.
