Camp Lejeune Lawsuit Goes Forward

The complaint was filed in Federal court in the Eastern District of North Carolina.

(JACKSONVILLE, N.C.) - Salem-News.com A federal judge has denied a motion by the government to reconsider requests to dismiss the $10,000 injury lawsuit of Marine spouse Laura Jones, who contracted non-Hodgkins lymphoma after living aboard Lejeune.

A judge previously rejected two motions to dismiss the case; one on the grounds that there were no standards for Lejeune’s TCE and PCE contaminants, the other because Jones’ cancer, diagnosed in 2003, fell outside the state’s 10-year statute of repose for injury claims.

Former Colonel Sues Marine Corps Over Camp Lejeune Water Contamination

A veteran who served on the base in the late 50's is Lejeune's 65th male breast cancer victim.

(WASHINGTON D.C. McClatchy) - Marine Corps logo A man who served at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune for nearly two years in the 1950s has sued the federal government for $16 million, saying poisonous water at the base caused his cancer.

Joel P. Shriberg of Pinehurst, N.C., was diagnosed in 2004 with male breast cancer and had a radical mastectomy on his left breast.

(SEATTLE) - Minidoka Pilgrimage The “Day of Remembrance” is an annual observance of the signing of Executive Order 9066, when President Franklin D. Roosevelt that ordered 120,000 Americans of Japanese ancestry to be imprisoned in concentration camps during World War II.

Decades later, the order was deemed unconstitutional and was belatedly but dramatically reversed by the passage of the Civil Liberties Act of 1988.

Dogface Infantry Massacre on the Rhine

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Dr. Leveque's 89th Infantry crossing the Rhine My 89th Infantry Division was one of the last to go to Europe in WWII. We left right in the middle of The Battle of the Bulge in which our casualties were catastrophic and the worst ever.

For us to be jumping into the Dragons Lair was pretty scary. We arrived in France January 10, 1945. It was cold, cold, cold with the ground frozen at least a foot. We had to put up our own 20 man tents which were frozen.
