Public Input Needed in Fatal Hit and Run Motorcycle Crash

One person is in custody, and OSP is still seeking to speak with three other persons of interest.

(SHERIDAN, Ore.) - fatal motorcycle crash The victim has been identified as 43-year old James Rudolph Osredkar from Sheridan.

A person of interest was identified as 22-year old Michala Ann Brown. On the evening of April 15th, Michala Brown was located and is cooperating with the investigation.

Rip Van Winkle Killed on Freeway by Freightliner

The pedestrian ran into high speed, freeway traffic

(CENTRAL POINT, Ore.) - freightliner vs ped A 2017 Freightliner towing a box trailer, operated by 52-year old Steve Pemberton, of Red Bluff, California, was traveling southbound on Interstate 5, in the right lane, when he observed a person run onto the highway.

The truck driver was unable to avoid colliding with the pedestrian.

Fatal Crash into Santiam Canal on Three Lakes Road

The Canal was dug by hand in the 1870s as a transportation route to move goods from the eastern part of the valley to the "Port of Albany" on the Willamette River.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley reports that a crash on Three Lakes Road today has resulted in a fatality.

The investigation reveals 20-year old Jonathan Alexzander Houser, from Albany, was the operator and sole occupant of a 2004 Dodge Neon and was traveling south on Three Lakes Road, when for unknown reasons, drove off the roadway.

Snow Levels Drop and Flood Warnings Continue for NW Oregon

A late winter storm will bring more rain and maybe even some snow.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com While the threat of snow is eminent, an active Flood Watch continues for two rivers, the Pudding River at Aurora and the Tualatin River at Farmington.

A cool and unstable air mass will linger over the region for the next several days. Low elevation temperatures will hover in the
lower to middle 30s each night. Most accumulating snow will remain around 1,000 feet or higher. However, some showers may
bring visible snow down to sea level for most of the next several days.

Dayton Woman Killed in Head-on Crash

Tragic accident in Yamhill County

(DAYTON, Ore.) - Dayton fatal crash According to Troopers on scene, a 2005 Jeep Liberty, operated by 19-year old Madelyn West of Beaverton was traveling east on Hwy 18. West's vehicle crossed into the west bound lane of travel colliding head-on with a 2000 GMC Envoy.

The GMC was operated by 68-year old Bertha Martinez, of Dayton.

President Declares Disaster for Dec. 14-17 Storms in Oregon

Damages from the winter storms from the past few weeks are also being assessed to see if more federal assistance is warranted.

(SALEM, Ore.) - high water Governor Kate Brown's request for a Presidential Disaster Declaration is officially approved for the severe winter storm and flooding that occurred from Dec. 14-17.

Federal funding is available to state, tribal, and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by a severe storm and flooding in Josephine and Lane counties.

Car vs Light Pole Sends One to Hospital

Tangent Fire Department quickly responded to the call

(TANGENT, Ore.) - car crash A single car accident on Hwy 34 in Tangent sent one to the hospital last night about 10:05 p.m. Tangent Fire Dept and OSP responded to the call of a car crashed into a light pole.

There was only one occupant, the driver, and that person was taken to the hospital by Albany Paramedics.

(SALEM, Ore.) - oregon winter weather Interstate 84 is closed between Troutdale and Hood River due to ice; the highway is also closed between Pendleton to Ontario as blowing snow creates blizzard-like conditions. OEM and the Oregon Department of Transportation urges motorists to stay off the roads.

As severe weather continues to rage across the state, Oregon's Office of Emergency Management activated the state Emergency Coordination Center (ECC).

(SALEM, Ore.) - Carole Lombard January 16th marks the 75th anniversary of the night Hollywood actress Carole Lombard lost her life in a mysterious, tragic plane crash southwest of Las Vegas, Nevada, claiming all 22 souls aboard.

A Transcontinental Western Airlines (TWA) Douglas DC-3 slammed into a mountain about 35 miles from Vegas, taking with it, Lombard, her mother, press agent and passengers including 15 US servicemen. Nobody ever figured out what happened.
