Oregon to Host Detroit in ESPN College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon

The game will be shown live on ESPNU at 8:00 p.m. PST.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - For the first time ever, Oregon has been selected to take part in ESPN's College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon on Nov. 17-18.

The Ducks’ Tip-Off Marathon appearance will come in their opening game of the Legends Classic versus Detroit on Monday, Nov. 17 at Matthew Knight Arena.

Thousands Turn Out as Salem Becomes Basketball City USA

Another big hit this year was the return of an old Salem classic: Bob's Hamburgers.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Thousands of basketball players, their families, and just fans of the game, turned out Saturday for the 16th annual Oregon National Guard 3-on-3 basketball tournament in Salem.

The streets surrounding the Oregon State Capitol grounds were transformed into basketball courts, where players from every age group and ability, showed off their best Michael Jordan, LeBron James, or Larry Bird basketball skills.

It’s the first preseason event of the year with the season opener just a few short weeks away on Aug. 30 vs. Portland State.

Portland Timbers Fall at LA Galaxy, 3-1

The Timbers are home next Saturday night against Chivas USA.

IRL: Sebastien Bourdais Wins Pole at Mid-Ohio

(LEXINGTON, Ohio) - Sebastien Bourdais earned his second Verizon P1 Award of the season by recording the best time on his final lap in the Firestone Fast Six shootout for the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio.

It was the 33rd career pole for the four-time Champ Car champion to tie Dario Franchitti for seventh all time.

Bearcats Nelson Named to Pre-Season Second Team All-American

Last year, the Bearcats finished the season with a 7-2 overall record and were ranked #25 in the final regular season poll.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - The leader of the Willamette University defense, inside linebacker Jack Nelson (Sr., Portland, OR/Jesuit HS, has been selected Second Team Preseason All-America by D3football.com.

Nelson is one of just 50 athletes to be named to the Preseason All-America Team.
