4 Time Super Bowl Winning Coach Chuck Noll Dead at 82

Noll's Steelers squad won only one game in his first season, and they had losing records for the following two years.

(PITTSBURGH, Pa. ) - Chuck Noll, the four-time Super Bowl winning coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, has passed away at the age of 82.

The Hall of Famer guided the Steelers from a laughingstock to one of the sport's great dynasties. When Noll took over the Steelers in 1969, Pittsburgh was the worst franchise in NFL history.

Canadians Blast Volcanoes on Opening Night, 11-2

The Volcanoes return to the field on Saturday night for game two of their five game series against the Canadians.

(KEIZER, Ore. ) - The last time the Vancouver Canadians were on a baseball field, they were celebrating their third consecutive Northwest League title in 2013. There was no title involved on Friday, but they still had plenty of reason to celebrate.

The Volcanoes managed only four hits, and surrendered two errors and seven wild pitches, as Vancouver defeated Salem-Keizer 11-2 on opening night.

The 19 points for the Ducks in the event gave Oregon a commanding lead entering the final day of competition at Hayward Field

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - Two nights after a similar strategy made him the NCAA Outdoor 10k champion, Edward Cheserek kicked into the lead of Friday's 5,000-meter final with about 200 to go.

This time, the man Cheserek passed was Arizona's Lawi Lalang, a seven-time NCAA champion himself. And Lalang was up to the task.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - As the top returning runner from last year's NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and the reigning NCAA Indoor champion after her win this winter, Laura Roesler had the weight of expectation on her shoulders entering her 800-meter final Friday at Hayward Field.

Hours before the race, Roesler experienced an upset stomach. Nerves hit her again just before the starting gun was fired.

(KEIZER, Ore. ) - The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes went through just one team practice entering Thursday night's preseason contest against the College All-Stars. That one practice was all they needed.
