Abbey Road and Satisfaction tribute bands face off at the Elsinore Theatre

(SALEM, Ore.) - Sgt Pepper No doubt the 60s are long gone – but the mods and the rockers are it again in November.

Beatles vs. Stones – A Musical Showdown will pit Rolling Stones tribute band Satisfaction against rival Brit boys Abbey Road in an all-out musical showdown for rock dominance on November 4 at the Elsinore Theatre.

Four-Alarm Grass Fire Closes Roadways in SE Salem

The fire appears to be under control at this time.

(SALEM, Ore.) - fire The Salem Fire Department along with units from the cities of Sublimity, Turner, Keizer and Marion County are battling a four alarm grass fire near Corban University.

The grass fire, which sparked in a field, led crews to close Deer Park Road between Aumsville Highway and Turner Road and Turner Road SE south of Kuebler Boulevard SE.

Plan Now for Salem`s Night Out Against Crime

The registration deadline is July 21, 2017.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com National Night Out is an evening dedicated to bringing residents and police together to stand united against crime through neighborhood block parties.

NNO is celebrated across the nation each year on the first Tuesday in August making August 1 the date for 2017. Block parties occur, generally, between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. "In Salem, it's our chance to demonstrate community unity against crime," said community relations analyst Angie Hedrick.

Salem Police Investigate Fatal Shooting

(SALEM, Ore.) - shooting investigation Arriving officers found an adult male had been shot in the residence and performed CPR on him until medics arrived and transported him to the hospital.

The victim later died at the hospital. The deceased victim has been identified as 32-year old Rodolfo Castro-Salas of Salem.

Police Investigate Student Stabbing at North Salem HS

Following the stabbing, the school was in "Lock Down" Thursday afternoon

(SALEM, Ore.) - stabbing investigation At about 12:07 pm, a Salem Police School Resource Officer who is assigned at North Salem High School was returning to the school when he came upon an injured male juvenile.

The investigation determined that the victim, who is a North Salem High School student, was stabbed by another juvenile male, who is also a student at North Salem High School.

Peter Courtney Minto Island Bridge to Open in April

Remaining activities must be completed in sequence and are weather-dependent.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Minto Brown walking bridge Despite a project timeline setback early on due to delayed delivery of the large supporting arches, the Peter Courtney Minto Island Bridge is on track to open to the public in April.

The bridge structure, including deck panels, rib arches and other infrastructure is now self supporting. Still to be completed are the bridge deck surface, structure tensioning, and removal of the temporary work bridge.

Salem Police Arrest Man for Driving Through Crowd Injuring Three

Detectives are still attempting to locate the vehicle involved in this incident.

(SALEM, Ore.) - 2005 Audi Salem Police detectives have arrested a suspect in the incident that occurred at 2:15 a.m. on New Year's morning where a suspect struck three people in a north Salem parking lot with a vehicle and fled the scene.

Detectives contacted and arrested 31-year old Logan Alphonso Boucher of Salem on Tuesday evening.

A coordinated search effort to find Rider has brought together many concerned citizens.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Rider On June 18, 2016 David Dixon of Salem experienced every dog owner’s worst nightmare. David and his constant companion, Rider, were visiting at a friend’s home in Salem. David and his friends decided to go out and, as is customary, Rider was left at the home. You see, Rider is David’s best friend. He is part of the family.

While they were out, there was a thunderstorm. Rider panicked and when they returned to the home they discovered a busted-out board and no Rider.
