(SALEM, Ore.) - oregon measure 91 Bottom Lines for Oregon Election 2014? Oregon voters are pretty savvy on a lot of issues; Oregon is a one-party state; money still exercises a lot of speech in Oregon – and “Follow the Money” remains the best political advice; New Jersey, Illinois, Louisiana, Carl Hiaasen’s Florida...aren’t the only states with political soap operas and dubious ethics...

One cannot lead off about Oregon Election 2014 with anything other than the End of Prohibition (again). Whew. It’s been a long haul. It was the fourth try here. Pretty much the sole opposition came from the Oregon Sheriffs and the State Prosecuting Attorneys, who financed the No on Measure 91 campaign. Of course, they feared their Asset Seizure and Butts-in-Jail Beds scams coming to an end.

Measure 91 to Legalize and Regulate Marijuana Passes in Oregon!

Oregon has returned to it's GRASS ROOTS, a leader in equality and common sense.

(SALEM, Ore.) - marijuana Oregon’s Measure 91, to legalize, regulate and control marijuana, though predicted to be a tight race, won by a handy margin in a race called by the Oregonian early in the night.

The new regulatory system will be overseen by the Oregon Liquor Control Commission, in consultation with the State Department of Agriculture and the Oregon Health Authority and will allow adults over 21 to possess up to eight ounces of marijuana and grow up to four plants.

Ban on Medical Marijuana Dispensaries is Lifted in Salem

Salem is respecting the Oregon voters by giving patients a place to access their medicine, legally.

(SALEM, Ore.) - cannabis The City of Salem Council Subcommittee on Medical Marijuana Dispensary Regulations was formed last spring and has worked for months on a plan that would work best for all involved.

Done. The Council agreed to the detailed plan and applications for licenses to operate a medical marijuana dispensary in Salem were accepted beginning October 28, 2014. Now that the council has voted to lift the moratorium, several new dispensaries will be opening up in Salem. But what will it cost them?

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - RealOne rapper “This weekend, Riverfront Park is the sole place in town you can’t light up a joint” – a joke that made the rounds.

The Tenth Annual Portland Hempstalk was held last weekend at Portland’s Tom McCall Riverfront Park, the site of many large festivals. The pro-Hemp/Pro-legalization of recreational adult use event was held just 38 days before Oregonians vote to join the citizens of Washington and Colorado and End Prohibition, (again).

The Aumsville city council is attempting to ban all cultivation, dispensaries and even the use of medical marijuana. An ordinance proposal hearing is taking place Thursday at 6:30pm in Aumsville, the public is invited to join the meeting, and pro-cannabis supporters are expected to show up en masse. What happens in this tiny town may have more of an impact statewide than anyone expected.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - measure 91 Cascade Policy Institute’s Board of Directors recently voted to support the latest marijuana legalization initiative, Measure 91, which will be on Oregon’s November ballot.

While Cascade has always supported the decriminalization of cannabis on both philosophical and practical grounds, this is the first actual ballot measure in which the organization sees the positive features outweighing the negative features.

Oregon Cannabis Activist Indicted for Felony Cultivation

“I don’t understand the problem. All of the sacred sacramental plants are legally allowed to exist.” – Joy Graves, recently indicted for cultivation.

(GRANT COUNTY, Ore.) - Joy Graves Long time front-line cannabis freedom fighter Joy Graves has been indicted on the charge of "Cultivation of Marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school" which is a Class "A" felony, punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment and a $300,000 fine. She goes to court for the first time August 19, 2014.

Compared to nearly every other police action regarding marijuana in Oregon, this was an incredibly small bust, though still a feather in the cap of local law officials.
