Two Pedestrians Struck by Vehicle Which Left Scene

(PORTLAND) - Hit and run Today, Wednesday March 12, 2014 at about 1:40 p.m., Portland Police officers responded to a call of two pedestrians struck by a vehicle. Officers arrived and discovered that the pedestrians had been hit by a vehicle which left the scene without exchanging information.

The pedestrians, a 71-year-old female and a 76-year-old female, were transported to an area hospital as a trauma injury...

Police Officer Shot in SW Portland

A firearm was recovered near the subject and the investigation is ongoing.

(PORTLAND) - Police car Earlier today we reported that officers from Central Precinct and the Youth Services Division had taken reports of a suspicious male driving a van (see the earlier flash alert)in the area of Wilson High School. In response to these reports officers were providing extra patrol in the area.

At about 4:00 p.m., an officer assigned to this detail was shot and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The Red Cross is asking donors to put their safety first, follow preparedness recommendations - and if able - to make their way to a donation location nearest to their home or workplace.

(PORTLAND, OR) - Ron Tonkin Ron Tonkin, a Portland businessman and national industry leader who began his career at his father’s used-car lot before launching what became one of the state’s largest dealership chains, died Friday of end-stage renal failure. He was 82.

The father and grandfather was a recognizable figure to Oregonians thanks to the commercials he and his sons helped write and often starred in over the years for his 17-store chain.

The Portland Police Bureau would like to remind community members that officers performing traffic stops would very rarely be in a vehicle without clear police markings or official lights.

(PORTLAND, OR) -  Police Impersonation Suspect The Portland Police Bureau would like to make the public aware of an incident where a man posing as an undercover police officer stopped a woman and searched her car.

On Friday January 17, 2014, the victim in this case met with a police sketch artist and a composite drawing of the suspect is being released to the public to aid in the identification of the suspect.
