The Portland Bureau of Transportation Maintenance Operations crews are responding to reports of street flooding, high standing water at corners, clogged catch basins, and drainage problems throughout the city.

Powell Butte, Oregon Ranch Owners Ordered to Complete Hazardous Waste Cleanup

“Cleaning up this site as quickly as possible is our top priority”- said Mike Boykin, EPA Project Manager

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - EPA logo A former owner and operator of Beetham Ranch in Powell Butte, Ore. and the company he owns and controls have been ordered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to complete the cleanup of hazardous wastes that began in 2007.

According to the order, the former owner and operator, Dennis C. Beetham, and his company, D.B. Western, Inc., are to finish cleanup operations at the ranch that have already resulted in the removal of nearly 265 tons of hazardous waste, 241 tons of industrial waste and 3000 tons of solid waste.

Beaverton Driver Injured in Early Morning Crash (PHOTOS)

Police believe the driver was traveling too fast for the foggy conditions.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Crash on Oregon's Sunset Highway, 11-1-09 Deputies say a driver suffered serious non-life threatening injuries early this morning when his vehicle, eastbound on Sunset Highway, slammed into the back of a parked semi truck.

Sgt. Dave Thompson with the Washington County Sheriff's Office, says 44-year old driver, Arnufo Reyes Jr. of Beaverton, was driving his 2005 Mercedes C230 east on Highway 26, the Sunset Highway east of the Highway 6 intersection when the crash happened Sunday, November 1st, at 6:04 a.m.

Pedestrians Struck by Driver In Portland: One Dies

The driver of the vehicle is cooperating, and traffic investigators do not believe the driver was impaired.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Pedestrian killed A driver struck two pedestrians tonight in Portland, killing an adult woman while injuring a second pedestrian. Detective Mary Wheat with the Portland Police Bureau, says it happened around 7:25 p.m. in the area of Southeast 80th and Foster Road.

Oregon I-5 South Closed at I-205 Over Fatal Pedestrian Crash

Expect serious traffic delays on Interstate-5, try to use alternative routes.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - News sources are reporting that a serious fatal accident involving a pedestrian has traffic on Interstate-5 South snarled and closed at the I-205 Interchange.

There was no further information on the number of vehicles involved, but images on KOIN TV showed a large number of emergency vehicles in the area.

JoAnne Kohler of the Tea Party Bookshop which is hosting th event, says, "Although global levels currently exceed the 350 ppm (we are at 390), more stringent standards can possibly reverse this upward trend and prevent runaway climate change."

Suspected Serial Robber Arrested In Portland

The man is a suspect in several area robberies.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - handcuffs 42-year-old Michael Gene Benson, was arrested by members of the US Marshall's Office Monday, October 19, 2009, in connection with a series of armed robberies that have occurred in Portland, Clackamas County, Gresham, and Tigard.

Portland Police Robbery Detectives believe that Benson is responsible for seven armed robberies in the Portland area.

Deputies Arrest Man after Reported Crime Spree

The suspect is in jail on $250,000 bail.

(ALOHA, Ore.) - 26-year-old Billy Gean Ryan Deputies say a man ran through an Aloha neighborhood last night attempting to steal cars and enter people's houses. The suspect was arrested by deputies after an hour-long manhunt.

26-year-old Billy Gean Ryan for multiple crimes stemming from two attempted car jackings and several burglaries.

Police Respond to Fatal Crash on Beaverton Hillsdale Highway (PHOTOS)

Investigators believe speed and alcohol were both factors in this accident.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Fatal crash Portland, Ore. Portland Police say one man died early this morning at 2:50 a.m. in a single car accident in the 4500 Block of Beaverton Hillsdale Highway.

Detective Mary Wheat with the Portland Police Bureau, says officers responding to the report arrived and found 24-year-old Ronald Earley injured at the scene. Mr. Earley was immediately taken to an area hospital and died from his injuries this afternoon.
