Blasphemy Cases Against Christians in Pakistan: Alarming and Pitiful

Advocate Sardar Mushtaq Gill, National Director of LEAD wants the law abolished.

(LAHORE) - Pakistan flag On 9 October, 2013 a blasphemy case FIR No.675/2013 under sections 295 A, 295 B and 295 C PPC was registered at Police Station Township by nominating three Christians. The pre-arrest bail of Pastor Adnan, 26 was filled on 26 October, 2013 in the court of Additional and Sessions Judge Khizar Hayat Khan and was fixed for final arguments for 6 November, 2013 but the petitioned was withdrawn without arguing the case.

In recent months, Sardar Mustaq Gill has been intimidated by various means, including violent threats. Sardar Mustaq Gill is the National Director of Legal Evangelical Association Development (LEAD) which is based in the province of Punjab.

(COLOMBO The Christian Post ) - Amala and Sadia Khan in a webcam photo taken at an undisclosed location. A Pakistani Christian family currently in hiding and living in poor condition in Sri Lanka are pleading with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to grant them refugee status, as they fear they might be killed if they are brought back to Pakistan.

"We need help," 29-year old Sadia Khan directly stated to The Christian Post in a phone interview on Tuesday. "We are now seven months in hiding."

One of my friends was on the line, they said that there is another blasphemy case in Wazirabad Gujranwala, the situation is tense there. I made a call to the local police officer, Sami Ullah, the Station House Officer (SHO), who told me details and confirmed that there is an incident and administration is on the ground looking into the matter.

Taliban, or one of their affiliate groups, had gone to St. Dominic’s Church in Bahawalpur in October 2001, shot the guard at the gate and then killed 15 people in the congregation. It was the first mass-killing of Christians in the history of Pakistan.

The incident took place at the shop of Mushtaq Masih on 8th October 2013 and FIR No. 675/13 registered on 9 October, 2013 at about 12:05 midnight.

(LAHORE, Pakistan) - Attacks on Christians in Pakistan Police registered a blasphemy case against Pastors Adnan, Arfan and Mushtaq Masih, under blasphemy laws, Sections of 295,295 A,295 B, 295 C Pakistan Penal Code.

The three were charged under Sections 295 A, B and C of PPC at Police Station Township on the complaint of a Muslim man, Abid Mehmood s/o Muhammad Ashraf Aqib, 153 A Lala Zar Colony Pagat Pura Shadbagh.
