City of Salem Condemns Protesters` Actions at Oregon State Capitol

Armed "protesters" used force to try to stop the Legislature’s special session.

(SALEM, Ore.) - far right protesters Monday morning, armed individuals attempted to disrupt the Oregon Legislature’s special session by taking over the State Capitol building. The Oregon State Police and Salem Police removed the individuals. Salem Police maintained order outside the building.

“During recent protests, speech has occurred that is racist and offensive. We condemn and reject racist speech that spews hatred and vile. There is no place for hate in Salem, and the City will act to protect residents from actions that threaten their safety.” -Mayor Bennett and Salem City Council President Chris Hoy

21 More COVID Deaths in Oregon Yesterday

As of 12:01 a.m. today, Oregon reports 1,339 new confirmed and presumptive COVID-19 cases, 21 new deaths

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - dead flowers The number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 across Oregon is 551, which is three fewer than yesterday. There are 113 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit (ICU) beds, which is unchanged from yesterday.

The total number of patients in hospital beds may fluctuate between report times. Staffing limitations are not captured in this data and may further limit bed capacity.

In doing so, they callously threatened the lives of their targets and risked the safety of the entire community,” said U.S. Attorney Williams.
