Terry Hickman Sentenced 17 Years for Killing Dallas Boyd

The cause of death was strangulation.

(MULTNOMAH COUNTY, Ore.) - Dallas Boyd Today, Multnomah County District Attorney Rod Underhill announced that 58-year-old Terry Hickman was sentenced to 17 years in prison for killing 29-year-old Dallas Boyd.

During Wednesday’s sentencing hearing, Ms. Boyd’s family described her as a “fun-loving” and “spunky” mother of two.

Snake River Correctional Institution Reports In-custody Death

SRCI is a multi-custody prison in Ontario that houses 3,000 male inmates.

(ONTARIO, Ore.) - Beebe An Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) adult in custody, Dan Alan Beebe died on December 28, 2018. He was incarcerated at Snake River Correctional Institution (SRCI).

He passed away at a Boise area hospital. As with all in-custody deaths, the Oregon State Police have been notified and the Medical Examiner will determine cause of death.

Tree Blocks Hwy on Humbug Mountain

Expect the unexpected throughout winter months

(U.S. 101, MP 307) - humbug mountain Just south of Port Orford, at 6:36 p.m. Thursday, the Humbug Mountain corridor highway became blocked by a large tree that fell across the highway.

ODOT removed the tree estimated at 6 feet in diameter, 60 feet tall.

Salem Woman Killed by Train (UPDATED)

The investigation into this fatal tragedy continues.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Train fatal On Thursday, December 27, 2018 at approximately 2:20 pm, Salem Police officers responded to the area of Marion St NE and 12th St NE on the report of an adult female being struck by a southbound Union Pacific freight train.

The victim, identified as 46-year old Michelle Manis, of Salem, was found deceased at the scene.

Two Motorcyclists Die in Crash on Hwy 22 (UPDATED)

Occupants of the motorcycle were pronounced deceased at the scene.

(POLK COUNTY, Ore.) - fatal motorcycle crash On Thursday, December 27, 2018 at approximately 12:58 pm, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a motor vehicle crash on Hwy 22W near milepost 8.

A motorcycle, with attached side car, was traveling eastbound on Hwy 22W when it swerved into the westbound lane of travel to avoid hitting a deer and collided with a westbound Chevrolet Yukon.

Oregon Restaurant Owner Sentenced to Prison for Immigration-Related Forced Labor Scheme

Defendant used debts, fraud, threats of financial and reputational harm, and other means to compel victims to work long hours for minimal pay at restaurants in Oregon and Washington

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - gavel 55-year old Paul Jumroon, formerly of Beaverton and Depoe Bay, Oregon, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Anna J. Brown to 37 months in prison and ordered to pay more than $131,000 in restitution to four victims and more than $120,000 to the IRS in taxes due.

The defendant previously pleaded guilty to forced labor, visa fraud conspiracy, and filing false tax returns.

Oregon Weather: Heavy Rain and Gusty Winds Expected

Combination of heavy rain and strong winds may make travel difficult.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - weather alert The strongest storm so far this season appears likely to impact southwest Washington and northwest Oregon late Monday into Tuesday, bringing heavy rain and gusty winds to the region.

Strong south winds are expected to develop along the coast Monday, then spread inland Monday night and Tuesday. Winds strong enough to down trees and power lines are expected along the coast and in higher elevations of the Coast Range.
