Oregon`s COVID-19 Death Toll is Now 6,743 Lives Lost

Oregon reports 1,116 new confirmed and presumptive COVID-19 cases, 35 new deaths

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - COVID-19 There are 35 new COVID-19-related deaths in Oregon, raising the state’s death toll to 6,743, Oregon Health Authority (OHA) reported at 12:01 a.m. today.

OHA also reported 1,116 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 697,775.

Brandon Matthew Nagy Convicted on Multiple Counts of Child Abuse

An infant boy suffered numerous injuries at the hands of Brandon Nagy.

(HILLSBORO, Ore.) - Brandon Nagy In early 2017, Mr. Nagy was left alone with his girlfriend’s infant son. Then, the child’s mother received a call from Nagy indicating that the boy appeared to be having a seizure. Medics arrived and discovered that numerous abusive injuries had been inflicted on the small child.

Pediatricians also discovered a healing fracture in the child’s jaw.

Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs are Reopening the Kah-Nee-Ta Village

Warm Springs Reservation was created by the Treaty of 1855.

(WARM SPRINGS, Ore.) - kah-nee-ta village The Confederated Tribes of The Warm Springs Reservation of Oregon approved funding of $4.58 million to bring back the popular Kah-Nee-Ta Village “fun in the sun” experience for visitors.

They will greatly expand the authentic hot springs soaking experiences in the recreational pool areas and Motel, Teepee, and RV lodging areas.
The opening is planned for 2023.

Chandler Pappas Sentenced to prison for role in Oregon State Capitol Riot

In total, six defendants were arrested for their violent acts on December 21, 2020.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon Capitol Today, before Judge Geyer, 28-year old Chandler Pappas was sentenced to 13 months for spraying mace at Salem Police officers while they attempted to secure the Oregon State Capitol from a riot on December 21, 2020.

Video footage showed Pappas retreat back into the crowd after spraying the officers.

The new rules allow for a broader mix of housing in specific residential zones.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem Oregon New land use rules in Salem will soon allow development of multiple-household dwellings, known as middle housing, on building lots of at least 4,000 square feet.

Salem’s middle housing code allows for attached as well as detached middle housing. Examples of the various options include duplexes, triplexes, quadplexes, townhouses, and cottage clusters.

UPDATE: OSP Clears multi-vehicle crashes along I-84 between Pendleton and La Grande

170 vehicles were cleared from a 1.75 mile stretch of the interstate.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon Traffic The Oregon State Police along with several local agencies worked together throughout the night to get Interstate 84 open and cleared of vehicles.

A total of 71 people were transported from the crash scene to the reunification center via busses. 17 patients were transported from the crash scene with an additional 2 transported after having arrived at the reunification center.
