Neither the Governor’s office nor Secretary Padilla immediately issued statements on the outcome of the First Judicial District Court case.

DHS Proposes `Expanded Border`

Until now, New Mexico has been at a formal disadvantage in the border commerce game.

(LAS CRUCES, NM) - New Mexico welcome sign In an era when border travel has become increasingly problematic, the DHS is now proposing to expand the geographic area Mexican nationals can travel within the state of New Mexico.

Invoking its rule-making authority, the DHS proposed August 9 an expansion of the geographic limit in New Mexico for holders of a Border Crossing Card, or other proper documentation besides a CBP Form 1-94, from the current 25 miles north of the border to 55 miles.

(LAS CRUCES, NM FNS News) - 'Missile Park' at White Sands A public meeting on a possible waste permit modification for White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) in southern New Mexico is scheduled for next Wednesday, August 1, in Las Cruces.

The meeting will consider a petition to the New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) for a change in the permit status of six solid waste management units located on WSMR land near Las Cruces.

Five Individuals Charged in Connection with Death of a Customs and Border Protection Border Patrol Agent

$1 Million FBI Reward Announced: Individuals Charged Are Allegedly Responsible for Death of Agent Brian Terry

(TUCSON, AZ) - From left to right, Jesus Rosario Favela-Astorga, Ivan Soto-Barraza, Heraclio Osorio-Arellanes, and Lionel Portillo-Meza (photo unavailable) are wanted in connection with the murder of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry. The indictment charging five individuals involved in the death of United States Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was unsealed today in Tucson, Arizona, and a reward of up to $1 million for information leading to the arrest of four fugitives was announced by Department of Justice officials.

This case is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
