House Committee Voting on Changes to Lead Law, Action Urged

American Motorcyclist Association suggests everyone take action, call your Representative now!

(WASHINGTON D.C. AMA) - AMA logo The CPSIA, commonly called the "lead law," was designed to ban small toys with high lead content. However, because of broadly written language in the law, it has been interpreted to apply to all products for kids, including dirtbikes, bicycles, clothing and books.

Action is needed now to exempt kid-sized dirtbikes and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) from the CPSIA.

Tim and Bonnie King Receive 2011 Silver Spoke Media Award in Albuquerque (VIDEO)

We do not take this amazing honor lightly.

(ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.) - Tim and Bonnie King won the 2011 Media award at the NCOM Convention in Albuquerque, New Mexico, as a result of stories they have written and produced for Salem-News.com. The Silver Spoke Awards Banquet at the 26th Annual National Coalition of Motorcyclists Convention was an honor for Bonnie and I to attend.

Held at the Hyatt Regency in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the political event was swarming with camaraderie and peaceful relations between so many American motorcycle clubs that we never were able to count them all.

Salem Freeway Reopens Following Fatal Motorcycle Crash Into School Bus

Northbound I-5 is now open at milepost 250, south of Salem, after a fatal crash. An earlier detour is no longer in effect as all lanes of northbound travel are open.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Fatal crash Oregon State Police troopers are investigating Tuesday afternoon's traffic crash that resulted in the death of an adult male motorcycle operator northbound on Interstate 5 south of Salem.

A fully loaded Creswell School District school bus was involved in the crash but no students were injured.

I-5 Stops Over Fatal Crash

Police say a crash on the freeway involves a motorcycle and a school bus.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Oregon State Police are on the scene of a fatal crash on Interstate 5 northbound near milepost 250.

This reportedly involved a motorcycle and school bus with one confirmed deceased motorcycle operator and no reported injuries to occupant of school bus.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Tim and Bonnie King with their award from the Confederation of Clubs Americans encourage youth to be involved in group activities, join clubs; parents and upstanding citizens often suggest that their offspring join the military so they can wear a uniform and belong to a group they can be proud of.

But for some reason, being in a club as an adult can get a person in to real trouble. Belonging to a motorcycle club in particular, is a sure way to earn the attention of police, who are often trained to assume that a person two wheels with a patch on their back is a real danger.
