New `Cold Case` Web page Launched by Clackamas Sheriff`s Office

There is no statute of limitations on the crime of murder.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - A cold case squad in Oregon is hoping that a new dedicated Web page will assist them in their efforts to resolve a number of murders, some from long ago and some more recent, that have so far kept investigators baffled.

Clackamas Sheriff's Office Spokesman Jim Strovink, says this addition will allow public insight and it is often a tip from the public that allows an older case to move forward.

Salem Police Seek Public Information in Robbery Investigation

The suspect is described as a light skinned Hispanic male, 25-30 years old, around six feet tall with medium-heavy build, wearing a light colored T-shirt and blue jeans.

(SALEM, Ore.) - The Salem Police Department is seeking information from the public regarding an armed robbery that occurred at the Tienda El Nopal variety store at 535 Edgewater Street NW in Salem today.

Police Lt. Dave Okada says that at approximately 12:30 PM, a man a white mask entered the store and threatened the store clerk with a handgun.

Drew Peterson Says He is `Prepared for Anything`

Peterson is the prime suspect in the disappearance of his fourth wife who's been missing four months to the day.

(New York) - Drew Peterson In his first interview since a coroner's report ruled his third wife's death a homicide, Drew Peterson denied any involvement in Kathleen Savio's death and said he was "prepared for anything" including an arrest.

"As long as my children are okay, I'm okay," Peterson told Matt Lauer on NBC's Today show. Peterson said he was surprised to hear of the coroner's report that concludes that Savio's death was a homicide.

Amber Alert for Baby Boy and Babysitter in Arizona Canceled

All parties are safe.

(SURPRISE, Az.) - Michael Wolfe The State of Arizona canceled the Amber Alert early this afternoon after the boy and the suspect were found safe in Avondale. No further information is available at this time.

The Surprise Police Department issued the Amber Alert for a missing 20-month old boy and his 15-year old baby sitter. The State of Arizona issued an Amber Alert early Thursday morning after the boy was apparently abducted in Surprise.

Vancouver Police Locate Missing Woman

Vancouver Police Detectives located Shirley Looker in David Douglas Park, Vancouver WA around 5:30 PM.

(VANCOUVER, Wash.) - 67-year old Shirley Marie Looker is missing and her family and the police are both concerned. A missing 67-year old Vancouver woman missing since Saturday was located by police today.

According to family, Looker was last seen around 10:00 PM on Saturday, when she was driven to an area hospital for a serious medical condition by her daughter.

Sketch released in February 4th Rape

Additional details, sketch released regarding rape suspect

(GRESHAM, Ore.) - Sketch of Gresham, oregon rape suspect from Feb 4 2008 Gresham Police detectives have released a sketch and put up a $1,000 reward for information related to the rape that occurred on February 4th. The rapist at this time remains at large.

Sgt. Claudio Grandjean with Gresham Police says details were originally slow in coming because the woman, who was raped and assaulted near 223rd and Stark, was injured to the extent that she was unable to speak to investigators.

Two Salem Men Lost in Boat Capsizing at Clatsop Spit

The incident ultimately left one Salem man dead, one Newberg man dead, and a second man from Salem missing.

(HAMMOND, Ore.) - A report of a capsized 16-foot aluminum vessel at Clatsop Spit near Hammond, Oregon, drew the response of U.S. Coast Guard rescue crews Saturday morning, who arrived on the scene at 10:45 AM.

The incident ultimately left one Salem man dead, one Newberg man dead, and a second man from Salem missing.

Salem Police Seek Assistance in Identifying Driver of Vehicle Involved in Accident

They are trying to locate the driver and passenger who did stop and help at the scene, in order to complete the necessary investigation.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Hit and run The Salem Police Department is seeking assistance in identifying the male driver and female passenger of a newer small black sport utility vehicle that was involved in a minor crash with a skateboard rider on Liberty St NE and Salem Parkway Thursday night, February 20th.

Salem Police Lt. Dave Okada says 18-year old Mark McMahan was riding his skateboard as he crossed Liberty Street at 10:15 PM. That is when a vehicle struck him as it was turning right from Liberty Street onto Salem Parkway.

Nevada Police Seek Clues in Female Student`s Death

An autopsy has determined the remains of a female discovered in a Southwest Reno field Friday are those of 19-year old Brianna Denison who was abducted January 20th.

(RENO, Nevada) - 19-year old Brianna Denison An autopsy has determined the remains of a female discovered in a Southwest Reno field Friday are those of 19-year old Brianna Denison who was abducted from a friends’ residence in Reno in the early morning hours of January 20th.

Police said the official cause and manner of death was due to strangulation making this a murder investigation. Police also estimated the full autopsy report would not be completed for several weeks due to pending protocols that include toxicology and other tests.

Police located the woman today in Aloha.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - 80-year old Mary Jane Carlson The Washington County Sheriff's Office says 80-year old Mary Jane Carlson was located by a citizen who saw a news broadcast requesting help in finding her. Police had been searching for the King City area woman after her son reported her missing.
