To be more specific, the number of deaths from all wars is about 1,300,000 and for wounded, it is about 1,500,000. The reason the latter is so high is that before WWII if the person was wounded he would almost certainly die. In WWII, with antibiotics and newer, better surgery, the death rate dropped immensely.
