If any family understands toxic exposure, it is my family. We have endured it through multiple generations of military service.

(WAYNESBURG, Pa.) - Marine Raiders in the Pacific islands during WWII When I was a child, my father had a photo album from WWII that was full of pictures of nothing but a city in rubble. We were sworn to secrecy and were not permitted to discuss these photos with anyone.

I always remembered this one photo of an arch doorway of a church still standing with the rest of the building just gone. Later in life I learned that there was the impression of little girl’s charred remains on that doorway. I never noticed this detail until it was explained to me by my father. The story of his personal experience of this little girl at the church, I will never forget. As it turned out these were his one of kind personal photos of the devastation after the atomic bomb blast in Nagasaki.

Old Chemical Weapons to New Mexico?

FNS asked a State Department source to confirm if U.S. chemical weapons long stored on Panamanian territory would be sent to New Mexico for disposal, but had not heard back from Washington by press time.

(LAS CRUCES , NM) - Isla San José The Panamanian government announced an agreement November 21 between the United States and Panama that could involve the disposal of old chemical weapons in the state of New Mexico. Panamanian Chancellor Fernando Nunez Fabrega told the international press that old weapons will be removed from San Jose Island and buried in the desert of New Mexico in 2014.

“In this way, Panama will be free of bombs without exploding them on the island of San Jose, and this place will regain its tourism value,” Nunez said.

With a sense of showmanship that would have impressed Freddie Mercury, Salahdeen, aged seven, struts his way through a passionate rendition of "We Will Rock You" - all part of the learning process at Kabul's "school of rock".

Founded two years ago in a living room in the Afghan capital, the school has grown into a busy youth club based at an arts centre with a recording studio and 35 students mastering singing, the guitar and drums.
