Northwest Families Attempt to Reunite across the United States and Mexico Border

Like Hitler's Germany in the 1930's, Immigration officials break up parents and children by sending US citizens to Child Protective Services in San Diego and undocumented children to a family detention center in Pennsylvania.

(PORTLAND) - Alejandra Campo and her sister Lisa Yesterday, Tuesday March 18th, the last of 150 undocumented people, including eleven people from the northwest, attempted to reunite with their families by crossing the border into the United States.

The 150 mothers, fathers, children, students, and LGBTQ people who crossed were all detained by border patrol and the majority remain in detention.

(TUCSON) - Border patrol agent “You have no rights here!” barked a U.S. Border Patrol agent to a resident of Arivaca, AZ who was passing through a Customs and Border Protection checkpoint 23 miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border.

This remark confirms a sense of violation of rights that many borderlands residents have when encountering one of the 71 permanent or tactical checkpoints scattered across the southwestern U.S. These off-border sites were condoned by the U.S. Supreme Court more than 40 years ago.

Undocumented Oregonians Take Great Risks to Return Home

Maria Angela Zapoteco Juárez plans to return to her family in Oregon this March through Bring Them Home.

(PORTLAND, OR) - Maria Angela Zapoteco Juárez of Portland, Oregon Between March 10th and 12th, 150 undocumented mothers, fathers, children, and students will cross into the United States from Mexico as a part of the Bring Them Home project.

Sinaloa Cartel Chief `Chapo` Guzman Arrested

The operation had been in the works for four or five weeks...

(WASHINGTON, DC CNN) - Joaquin Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, the boss of one of Mexico's most powerful drug trafficking operations, was arrested in Mexico, a U.S. official told CNN Saturday.

The official said Guzman, accompanied by a female, was captured in a joint operation with Mexican marines and Drug Enforcement Administration authorities overnight at a hotel in the beach resort of Mazatlán.
