(MCMINNVILLE) - Oregon's longtime aviation pioneer, Delford M. Smith, confirms rumors that his facility, Evergreen International Aviation, Inc., headquartered in McMinnville, is financially impacted by a rollback in federal defense spending.

With reported ties to groups like the Central Intelligence Agency, Smith built a fortune supplying civilian aircraft and crews for military roles in what many describe as the clandestine air force, "Air America."

Bagwell Co-Publishes Book on Newspaper Industry

The book, published by Ridenbaugh Press in Carlton, traces the evolution of individual papers from locally, often family-owned publications to the ownership consolidation of larger groups.

(MCMINNVILLE, Ore.) - McMinnville Police say a man was shot last night at the Circle K convenience store located at 840 NE 3rd Street.

Officers responded to the scene at 6:38 p.m. and located a Hispanic man, identified as 36-year old Javier Vage Jr. of Salem, who had been shot in the hand and leg.
