Kansas Judge Reverses Order to Allow Parents` Use of Medical Cannabis

They are on the road to getting their kids back, though it may still be months away.

(MANHATTAN, Kansas) - Matthew Pappas Reversing his original order in a case involving five children taken by the Department of Children and Families, a Riley County, Kansas judge has allowed use of medical cannabis by the children’s parents.

Writing that visitation with the children can continue even if the parents test positive for marijuana, the judge required them to provide proof of their medical marijuana recommendations issued in Colorado. The judge stated drug testing, “shall be for this case only and not for criminal prosecution.”

Marijuana Extracts NOT FOR SALE! (Yet) for 21+ in Oregon

OMMP must draft rules before stores may sell products to the recreational market.

Oregon Cannabinoid Extracts Conundrum Settled by OHA

Dispensaries can continue to sell extracts to OMMP clients, says OHA.

(SALEM, Ore.) - cannabis oil Currently, the legality of extracts, oils and concentrates has been on the radar. There was a lapse in the timing for legal sales, and so it had to be gone over with a fine tooth comb. This is OHA's answer to the situation at hand:

Dispensaries may continue to sell or transfer extracts that they have in stock as of March 1, 2016, to OMMP patients with a valid registry identification card. Dispensaries may not accept new transfers of extracts from unregistered processors. Processors may begin to apply with OHA on April 1, 2016.

Oregon Department of Revenue Releases Marijuana Tax Collection Totals

$3,480,000 in TAXES was received in 33 days (Feb 1 - March 4, 2016).

Dispensaries are responsible for collecting a 25-percent tax at the point of sale and remitting it to the Department of Revenue monthly.

Oregon Marijuana Dispensary Tax Payment Deadline Nears

The temporary 25% tax is applied to the retail price of all recreational marijuana products sold by dispensaries through December 31, 2016.

Oregon Marijuana Labeling and Limits Effective Date Extended to June 1

FYI: The permanent rules will have different requirements than what is currently adopted in temporary rules.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon marijuana The temporary amendments are to extend the effective date of the labeling and product serving size and concentration limits requirements from April 1, 2016, to June 1, 2016, due to the time needed for dispensaries and producers to adhere to rule changes.

The Oregon Health Authority is currently working with a rules advisory committee on permanent rules related to marijuana labeling, serving size and concentration limits.
