Ariel Sharon Dies After Eight Years in a Coma

Deprived of dignity, his body systems sustained by modern technology, Sharon lingered for eight years, largely forgotten by the world.

(CHICAGO) - Sharon and Begin Ariel Sharon died January 11, 2014, eight years and one week after he suffered a stroke January 4, 2006. At the time of his stroke, Sharon was the 11th Prime Minister of Israel. The stroke left him in a permanent, brain dead, vegetative state. It was not the final chapter of life a proud man could have wanted.

A medical blog described Sharon’s final years: ”With the help of modern medicine, his body soldiered on. His kidneys no longer worked, and he received dialysis to keep them operating. In 2013, he even underwent surgery to treat an infection related to his kidney failure”.

Palestinian Rights

We must learn to appreciate and thank people more while they are alive.

(BETHLEHEM) - Palestine flag We are in a new year and certainly I wish all humans (friends and foes) a happy new year that would bring justice which is the prerequisite for peace.

In the first few field-trips in 2014, we saw beautiful budding lilies, many species of snails and insects, and birds and others signs of renewed life after the snow in Palestine. Our water wells are full and Spring is coming. Life renews itself. We remember fallen comrades but we look to the future with hope.

A Petition from the Campaign to
Tell Musicians: Don`t Entertain Apartheid Israel!

Sign the Petition to Musicians invited to play the Red Sea Jazz Festival.

(TEL AVIV) - Boycott Israeli music fest The Red Sea Jazz Festival is a bi-yearly event in Israel's city of Eilat. The festival could have been a festival to celebrate the free spirit of Jazz music, and this beautiful tradition of oppressed minorities.

Sharon and a Nobel Prize for Nonsense

One interesting thing very few people know about Sharon is that he was opposed to Israel developing and possessing nuclear weapons.

(LONDON) - Ariel Sharon Until recently I thought Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu had no rivals in the business of talking propaganda nonsense (Israel’s Jews in danger of annihilation etcetera, etcetera, etcetera). But if there was a Nobel Prize for talking nonsense it does now seem that there would be a number of contenders.

At the top of my list of them would be British Prime Minister David Cameron. In paying tribute to Sharon he praised him for his “brave and controversial decisions in pursuit of peace.”

A Pact With The Devil

The King of Israel is dead. Here’s to the demise of his appalling legacy.

(LONDON) - Ariel Sharon Those of you who are familiar with my thoughts and writings will know by now that I loathe invoking any religious edict to make my point. In this case the exception is justified.

You would have to be living in the deepest recesses of the Amazonian jungle or the farthest reaches of Outer Mongolia not to have heard of the death of ‘the devil’ that was Ariel Sharon. Forgive me if I don’t shed a tear nor have a decent word to say about the dead but on this occasion I will just refrain from dancing over his grave.

Ariel Sharon: Buddha of Middle East or Butcher of Beirut?

Sharon, who was in a coma for eight years after suffering a stroke in January 2006 at the peak of his power, died on Saturday aged 85.

(TEHRAN) - Ariel Sharon Voltaire once said, "Men use thought only to justify their wrong-doings, and words only to conceal their thoughts." With former Israeli general and prime minister Ariel Sharon’s long-anticipated death, the Western media has gone to great lengths to paint him as the Buddha of the Middle East.

The whole world knows that he achieved his nirvana in Beirut in September 1982 at the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps when Lebanese mercenaries backed by Israeli forces slaughtered thousands of innocent Palestinian and Lebanese Muslims.

Palestine`s Quislings

A Hand in the Till Not on the Tiller.

(WASHINGTON, DC) - State John Kerry disembarking from his plane in Tel Aviv with chief US negotiator Martin Indyk. A picture is indeed sometimes worth a thousand words. A photo of Secretary of State John Kerry disembarking from his plane in Tel Aviv showed chief US negotiator Martin Indyk walking along at his side with a grin on his face as if he had just heard a new Palestinian joke in the plane on the way over.

It looked like Israel’s American legal team had arrived and just couldn’t wait for the first photo op with a glowering Benjamin Netanyahu.
