Washington Man Killed Going Wrong Way on I-84

Two other people injured in the crash were taken to Portland hospitals.

(HOOD RIVER, Ore. ) - wrong way crash Oregon State Police are continuing the investigation into Tuesday morning's fatal traffic crash involving a wrong way driver in the westbound lanes of Interstate 84 east of Hood River.

At approximately 4:03 AM a 1979 GMC pickup driven by 28-year-old Mathias McConville, from Wapato, Washington was eastbound in the westbound lanes of Interstate 84 near milepost 69 when it collided nearly head-on with a westbound 2006 GMC Yukon.

At the time of the crash the GMC Yukon had just begun to pass a commercial truck towing two trailers.

Update: All Lanes of I-84 Westbound Now Open After Fatal Crash

Initial reports indicate two vehicles involved. Unknown length of closure.

(HOOD RIVER, Ore. ) - fatal crash photo A fatal traffic crash reportedly involving a wrong way driver has closed all westbound lanes of Interstate 84 near milepost 67 between Hood River and Mosier.

Oregon State Police, Hood River County Sheriff's Office and local emergency responders on scene.

Westbound traffic is recommended to cross over into Washington at the Highway 197 bridge in The Dalles and use Highway 14 in Washington and then travel back into Oregon at the Hood River Bridge.

Peaceful Defenders Louder Than Unwelcome Hate Group (VIDEO)

Hood River came out to support the family of a war hero and to make sure the hate group stayed in line.

(HOOD RIVER) - Hood River SEAL funeral Hood River may not always be the quietest place in Oregon. It is a popular recreational area with plenty of boats on the water, and it is the place where Navy SEAL Marc Lee grew up. It’s also the place where Marc's Memorial was held Saturday, following his recent death in Iraq.

But a different kind of noise was in the air, it’s the last noise these people who came to say goodbye to a hero, wanted to hear.

A hate group from Kansas that disrupts military funerals drug American flags on the ground, carried anti-American and anti-gay signs, and did their best to harass people. None of the veteran’s whose funerals they picket were selected because they were gay.

Oregon Community Says Goodbye to a Hero (VIDEO)

Marc Lee grew up in the Portland and Hood River area.

(HOOD RIVER) - Marc Lee The city of Hood River Oregon said goodbye to one of its own Saturday. Friends, family, active duty servicemen and veterans all joined together to recall the life of 28-year old Marc Lee, a young man who leaves many loved ones behind.

Marc was a Navy SEAL, one of the nation’s elite commandos that have been on the cutting edge when it comes to freedom and security, for decades. Marc was the first Navy SEAL to die in combat in Iraq.

When it comes to high level security and reconnaissance work, the Navy SEAL’s are among the best.

Oregon Comes Out In Support of Hood River Family (UPDATE)

The video is under production, including Tim's confrontational interview with Margie Phelps who is the hate group's spokesman. Look for the video sometime late Saturday or early Sunday Pacific time.

The August 2nd 2006 death of 28-year old Marc Lee was the first suffered in Iraq by the Navy’s elite commando force.
