Be Aware! Gresham Road Work Could Hamper Your Commute

Traffic delays are expected as crews cut pavement and lay new water pipe.

(GRESHAM, Ore. ) - road construction photo The City of Gresham will begin construction to install a new water main this week on Northeast Division Street between East Burnside and Southeast Hogan Place.

The purpose of the water construction project is to replace an 8-inch water line with a larger, 16-inch line to increase water flow in the area and provide better water service to homes, businesses and fire services in the eastern part of the city.

Prisoner Elbow Grease Scrubs Out Gresham Graffiti

Inmate Work Crews visited and scrubbed clean approximately 70 sites in the SW Gresham area today.

(GRESHAM, Ore.) - Inmates making Gresham, Oregon a better place 51707 Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Inmate Work Crews resumed removing graffiti from public property on Powell between 182nd to 174th Avenues and on Division from 174th to 182nd.

The program, which began yesterday, was initiated after Multnomah County Sheriff Bernie Giusto approached Gresham city officials with an offer to provide MCSO Inmate Work Crews at no cost.

Gresham Police Seek RV Thieves

A reward is being offered to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

(GRESHAM, Ore. ) - police lights photo The Gresham Police Department is asking for the public's help with identifying those responsible for breaking into several recreational vehicles at Gresham RV, located at 325 NE Hogan.

There have been multiple incidents at the business, the first being at the end of April 2007.

It has been estimated that over $30,000 worth of electronics and other items have been stolen.

Grand Jury Indicts Gresham Teen Charged in Shooting Incident at Springwater High School

The situation began on April 11th when Gresham Police Officers responded to Springwater Trail High School over a reported gunshot.

(GRESHAM) - Chad Escobedo The Multnomah County Grand Jury heard testimony yesterday regarding the charges filed against 15-year old Chad Escobedo, who was arrested last Tuesday for shooting at Springwater Trail High School and injuring several students.

The Grand Jury returned a number of indictments:

These include one count of Attempted Aggravated Murder, one count of Attempted Murder, two counts of Assault in the 2nd degree, two counts of Assault in the 3rd degree, and two counts of Unlawful use of a weapon.

Teen Arrested in Gresham School Shooting

During the incident a parent of 15 year old Chad Antonio Escobedo called to say they believed Chad was responsible for the incident.

Shooting Places Two Gresham-Barlow Schools in Lockdown Tuesday

The Gresham Police Department was notified immediately and both Springwater Trail High School and Hogan Cedars Elementary School were immediately placed into lockdown.

(GRESHAM, Ore.) - Ten students were cut by flying glass this afternoon at Springwater Trail High School in Gresham when a rifle shot went through a classroom window of the top floor of the school.

The Gresham-Barlow School District has learned 10 Springwater Trail students in total were hurt by broken window glass. Two of those students were taken to a local hospital where they were treated. The remaining eight students were treated at the school.
