Police Investigate Suspicious Death of Gresham Teen

Gresham Detectives encourage anyone who has information regarding Ms. Daggett to call the Gresham Police Department.

(GRESHAM, Ore.) - Photo of Rachel Dagget from her MySpace page Today, Gresham Fire & Rescue responded on SE Phoebe Court regarding a person found possible deceased. Emergency medical personnel arrived at 9:08 AM and confirmed the death. The cause of death was not apparent, and Gresham Police Detectives were called to the scene.

Police say the woman who died, 18-year old Rachel Daggett, lived in Damascus. Ms. Dagget was a student at Sam Barlow High School. No further information is available about Ms. Dagget is available at this time.

The Gresham Police Department have termed Ms. Daggett's death as suspicious. An autopsy has been scheduled later in the day, and investigators are waiting for additional information obtained from that procedure.

Gresham Plugs In With Charging Station for Electric Vehicles

(GRESHAM, Ore.) - Gresham is getting greener The City of Gresham is unveiling the city's first Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Station as part of Portland General Electric's new network of charging stations in the region. Gresham is the third city government in Oregon to install a plug-in station and the eighth location in PGE's growing network of stations.

The EV charging station provides the general public the opportunity to recharge their electric vehicles with renewable energy from PGE. There is no charge to use the station. Drivers simply park their cars at the Gresham City Hall station and plug in their vehicles the same way a household appliance plugs into the wall.

With concerns about global warming and rising fuel costs, city leaders and Gresham residents are looking for more economical and sustainable transportation options. The City of Gresham joined forces with PGE to install the station to help develop and test the transportation infrastructure needed to support plug-in vehicles. Automobile manufacturers are expected roll out a new generation of electric vehicles within the next few years.

Officer Involved Shooting Investigation‏ Under Investigation

The Major Crimes Team comprised of detectives from law enforcement agencies within Multnomah County has been assigned to investigate. The Gresham Motor Officer was not injured in this incident.

(GRESHAM, Ore.) - Police shooting A police officer in Gresham was involved in a shooting Thursday evening, after he said a driver he was pursuing on his police motorcycle, drove his vehicle straight toward him.

Gresham Police say it began at 5:13 Thursday evening when a Gresham Police Motor Traffic Officer became involved in a pursuit of a vehicle that was driving recklessly near NE 162nd Ave and NE Holladay Street.

The pursuit traveled through the neighborhood until the suspect vehicle, a Red Toyota Tercel with Washington license plates, reportedly slid to a stop at the intersection of NE 166th and NE Wasco Street.

Police Investigate Shooting at NE 162nd and NE Glisan

Gresham detectives were called to the scene and this remains an on-going investigation.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Shooting investigation Gresham Police were called to the Tortilleria Y Tienda De Leon's store located at 16225 NE Glisan today at 12:29 PM, over a report of a Hispanic male who had walked in with gun shot wounds.

Responding Officers found a man in his mid thirties, lying of the floor with one gun shot wound each to his right hand and right leg.

Police say that due to a language barrier and conflicting witness accounts, few facts or specific details are known at this time. The incident is believed to have occurred in the parking lot east of Tortilleria Y Tienda De Leon's.

Apparent Knifefight Leads to Death of One Man and Two Injuries

The suspects are still outstanding, but little is known of them. They were on foot and are of unknown race, in their 20's or 30's.

(GRESHAM, Ore.) - Police in Gresham say a fight involving as many as seven people has led to three people receiving knife wounds, one of them died from his injuries.

Police eventually learned that the three and one other person had been involved in a fight against three other unknown men, in a strip-mall parking lot at Burnside and Powell. This was the second confrontation between the two groups that night, according to information learned by detectives.

Gresham Man Faces 20 Sex Offense Counts out of Deschutes County

Detectives say the alleged abuse occurred when the victim was between the age of 9 and 12.

(GRESHAM, Ore.) - 22-year old Travis Benjamin Amonson. A Gresham-area man was arrested Monday on 20 felony sex offense counts based on warrants issued in Deschutes County.

Police say the charges are related to an Oregon State Police investigation into allegations the suspect sexually abused a male relative during a three year period when they lived in the Redmond area.

Woman Arrested for Attempted Arson of a DHS Building

Gresham Police say Marlene Chenette was arrested last night in Vancouver, Washington.

(VANCOUVER, Wash.) - Marlene Chenette Police arrested a woman they believe is connected to a "Molotov Cocktail" style arson attempt on a DHS building. Authorities say Marlene Chenette say became angry with the Department of Human Services over losing her parental rights, and tried to burn the DHS building down in Gresham two years ago.

Police Make Arrest in `Molotov Cocktail-Style` Attempted Arson

Police say they still seek one person in an attempted Arson of an Oregon DHS building.

(GRESHAM, Ore.) - 27-year old Marlene Chenette of Portland remains wanted over the Attempted Arson of a DHS building. Police are seeking the public's help in locating a woman who they say became angry with the Department of Human Services over losing her parental rights, and tried to burn the DHS building down in Gresham two years ago.

Police say that on November 24th 2005, officers were dispatched to what appeared to be a broken window at the Gresham DHS building, 335 NW Division.

Police Investigate Death of One-Month Old in Gresham

Detectives say the case remains under investigation.

(GRESHAM, Ore.) - Police in Gresham are investigating a homicide involving an infant who they say was taken to Mt. Hood Medical Center on Saturday March 29th by ambulance.

The young victim was then transported to Emanuel Hospital in Portland, where he later died. The East County Major Crimes Team was activated to assist in the investigation.

Sketch released in February 4th Rape

Additional details, sketch released regarding rape suspect

(GRESHAM, Ore.) - Sketch of Gresham, oregon rape suspect from Feb 4 2008 Gresham Police detectives have released a sketch and put up a $1,000 reward for information related to the rape that occurred on February 4th. The rapist at this time remains at large.

Sgt. Claudio Grandjean with Gresham Police says details were originally slow in coming because the woman, who was raped and assaulted near 223rd and Stark, was injured to the extent that she was unable to speak to investigators.
