Shooting in Gresham Leaves Two People Dead and Two Seriously Hurt

Detectives determined that the suspect shot and killed himself at the scene.

(GRESHAM, Ore.) - Deadly shooting Gresham Police were dispatched to a call of shots being fired at the M & M Restaurant, 137 N. Main last night at 9:47 p.m. Sgt Rick Wilson with Gresham Police says upon arrival, police found four unidentified victims suffering gunshot wounds.

Gresham Police Search for Suspect in Triple Stabbing

Police ask anyone who sees the suspect to call 911.

(GRESHAM, Ore.) - 17-year old Omar Magana of Portland On January 31, 2010 at 12:34 am Gresham Police were dispatched to a fight in the area of NE 177th and NE Couch, after learning that three people were stabbed in a fight. The three reportedly then drove to Mount Hood Medical Center.

Gresham Man Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle on SE 182nd

Police stress that speed and alcohol are not considered factors and the driver is cooperating with the investigation.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Pedestrian killed Police say 83-year old Vasily Pliska of Gresham died after he was struck by a vehicle operated by 64 year old Kenneth Bannister of Gresham. It happened at 6:34 p.m. Tuesday in front of the Powell Vista Manor, 4125 SE 182nd.

Sgt. Richard Wilson with Gresham Police, says the Vehicular Crimes Team was called out to investigate. He says speed and alcohol are not factors in this crash and VCT continues to investigate.

New Skatepark is First of its Kind for Gresham

Gresham worked closely with residents and community groups to ensure the park will be compatible with other nearby uses.

(GRESHAM, Ore.) - Gresham skatepark The city of Gresham recently opened the first phase of its planned 14,000 square foot skate plaza at Main City Park on S. Main Avenue.

Laura Bridges-Shepard, Gresham's Communications Manager, says the first phase is comprised of street elements that include stairs, banks, ramps, ledges, and other urban street course design features totaling 5,710 square feet.

Gresham Hit & Run Suspect Located and Arrested

The suspect faces numerous charges.

(GRESHAM, Ore.) - Hit and run in Gresham, Ore. 11-28-09 Gresham Officers have been on the lookout for a suspect vehicle involved in a Felony Hit & Run from the day before, in the area of Burnside and SE 202nd. A family was at a stoplight when their vehicle was struck at 8:05 a.m.

The driver reportedly confessed to the Hit & Run, which occurred at SE 181st and SE Stark. He told Officers that he was scared and was very sorry for what he had done.

The suspect is described as a white male approximately 20-years of age, in a dark tan or light brown Chevrolet pick up bearing Oregon 402DRQ.

(GRESHAM, Ore.) - Photo of crash scene on SE 181st in Gresham, Oregon Police say 30-year old Alejandro Reyes Cruz of Gresham & his family were stopped for a red light facing Southbound in the left turn lane on SE Stark at SE 181st today at 2:45 p.m. when their vehicle was suddenly struck from behind by a pick up truck, which left the scene Eastbound on SE 181st.

The force of the impact pushed his car forward into another vehicle being operated by 24-year old Juan Velasquez Lunda of Gresham.

Death Investigation Clears Elderly Husband

The investigation continues, but detectives believe the death of Oleg Plyushcheva and injuries suffered by her husband were not caused by a criminal act.

(GRESHAM, Ore.) - Death investigation Gresham Police, along with Gresham Fire and Rescue were dispatched Friday morning to check the welfare of occupants at a home on NE 183rd, Portland, Oregon.

Inside the residence emergency personnel discovered 73-year old Olga Plyushcheva, deceased, and her husband, 79-year old Stephan Plyushchev, semi-conscious and with visible injuries to the right side of his face and left shoulder.
