(BRISBANE) - Rape is defined in the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC):

“Rape is a form of sexual violence during which the body of a person is invaded, resulting in penetration, however slight, of any part of the body of the victim, with a sexual organ, or of the anal or genital opening of the victim with any object or other part of the body”.

(GENEVA) - Your Excellencies, Honorable Members of the UN Human Rights Council, Ladies and Gentlemen, I am an elected Member of Northern Provincial Council in Sri Lanka, and I stand here today in front of you as a voice of the victimized Tamil people in Sri Lanka.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank and appreciate all of you and the International Community for tirelessly working to bring justice to the Tamil people.

A Glimpse of Jewish Warsaw

A new exhibition, “Miasto i oczy” (“The City and the Eyes”), dedicated to Kipnis’s photographic legacy, has opened at the Jewish Historical Institute in Warsaw.

(WARSAW) - Menachem Kipnis is known to Jewish history as a cultural figure who worked across several fields. Born in Uzhmir, Ukraine in 1878, Kipnis distinguished himself as a singer, ethnomusicologist and journalist.

As a singer he was the first Jewish tenor in the Warsaw Opera (1902-1918) and along with his wife, Zimra Zeligfield, he was among the most important early singers of Yiddish folksongs.

The Tamils in the North and East in the island of Sri Lanka have some similarities to the Biafran people.

(PARIS) - Looking at history, we see there have been political and ethnic conflicts attempting secession from aggressors. Some were successful, a few are pending and a very few had sad endings.

It is too early to consider whether the political and ethnic conflict of the Tamils in the Island of Sri Lanka has to come to an end.

This Booklet was produced by the TGTE’s Center for the Prosecution and Prevention of Genocide. It is a transnational collaborative work of academics and activists.

Ethnic minorities on this island nation are slaughtered en masse, even tourists are raped and murdered in this place that tends to place a nationalist, twisted form of violent Buddhism in front of any other human rights.

TGTE Urges US/UN Ambassador to Help Initiate Sri Lanka Intl. Investigation Under UN Article 99

TGTE is mobilizing international civil society to apply moral pressure on the UN Secretary General, to appoint an international investigation on Sri Lanka.

(NEW YORK) - In a letter sent to the US Ambassador to the UN Ms. Samantha Power, the Prime Minister of Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE)Mr. Visuvanathan Rudrakumaran, urged Ms. Power to exercise US diplomatic and moral power to persuade UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon to appoint an International Investigation on Sri Lanka, under Article 99 of the UN Charter.

It was pointed out in that letter that UN’s Expert Panel Report on Sri Lanka, the UN Internal Review Report on Sri Lanka and one of the UN Expert Panelist Professor Steven Ratner have all concluded that there is neither the political environment nor the judicial environment in Sri Lanka for dispensing justice domestically.
