Thoughts on the Mass Shooting in Buffalo, NY

The shooter — an 18-year old white male — was taken into custody.

(SAN FRANCISCO, CA.) - In another example of deja vu happening all over again, on May 14, 2022, at least ten mostly Black people were killed and three wounded outside and inside a Tops Friendly Market in Buffalo, NY.

The supermarket is in a predominately Black neighborhood. The shooter — an 18-year old white male — was taken into custody.

Motorcyclist Killed In Crash on Friday

(STAYTON, Ore.) - The motorcycle entered the oncoming lane in an attempt to pass the line of slowing cars.

As he passed the cars on their left, the lead car, a 2007 Audi, began a left turn. Murphy struck the left side of the turning Audi throwing him from the motorcycle.

Hwy 211 Crash Claims Life of Motorcycle Rider

An improperly executed left turn is apparently the cause.

(CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore.) - A 51-year old Harley rider suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. An improperly executed left turn is being investigated as a contributing factor to the collision.

Hwy 211 was closed for two hours.

Oregon Firefighter Austin Smith Memorial Service

The memorial service is this Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 1 p.m. at the St. Paul Rodeo grounds.

(SALEM, Ore.) - On Thursday, February 3rd, the St. Paul Fire District as well as other mutual aid partners, responded to a reported barn fire at Champoeg Creek and McKay Rd.

During firefighting efforts, an explosion occurred severely injuring Austin Smith, who was preparing for exterior defensive fire operations. Firefighter Smith died as a result of his injuries.

Grand Ronde Woman Killed in Head-on Crash

Detectives Ask for Help in Suspicious Death Investigation

Attempted Salem Break-In Ends In Fatality

(SALEM, Ore.) - Sunday night just before 7 p.m. Sunday, Deputies were called out to a disturbance at a home. The 911 caller said an unknown male attempted to break into the home at 45th Ave NE near Iberis Street, and the resident shot the intruder.

The suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene. There were no further injuries.

Fatal Pedestrian v. Vehicle Crash on Hwy 30

Hwy 30 was closed for 2.5 hours following the crash.

(Multnomah County, Ore.) - A Ford Escape, operated by 28-year old Brandon Pollard, of Warren, was travelling eastbound on Hwy 30 and struck a female adult who was on foot within the eastbound “A” Lane.

The pedestrian has been identified as 41-year old Amy Bybee, of Portland.
