Three DOC Oregon Prisons Evacuated Due to Fire Threat

A total of 1,450 adults in custody have been relocated, not released.

(SALEM, Ore.) - OSCI prison Three Salem institutions are in potential danger as the fires move down the Santiam Canyon. DOC has worked with the Oregon State Police and the State Fire Marshall to keep everyone who works and lives inside these prisons safe.

A total of 1,450 adults in custody (AIC) have been relocated. All AICs have been moved to and will be housed in emergency beds throughout Oregon State Penitentiary (OSP).

Marion County Declares Emergency Due to wildfires

The emergency declaration allows the county to seek resources from the state government.

(SALEM, Ore.) - oregon fires The Marion County Board of Commissioners has declared a State of Emergency for Marion County due to rapidly spreading wildfires in the county. Fires are expected to continue and have required evacuations.

The county will take all necessary steps to coordinate response and recovery from this emergency.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - COVID-19 COVID-19 has claimed seven more lives in Oregon, raising the state’s death toll to 427, the Oregon Health Authority reported at 12:01 a.m. today.

OHA also reported 247 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state total to 25,391.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon M110 Measure 110 is designed to establish a more humane, equitable and effective approach to drugs in Oregon. It expands access to drug addiction treatment, paid for with help from marijuana tax revenue.

As part of a shift to a health-based approach to addiction, Measure 110 reduces criminal penalties for drug possession. It does not legalize any drugs.
