Man Faces Numerous Charges After Police Chase

The vehicle struck an apartment and the force of the knocked a child's bed several feet away from the wall, fortunately the child was not home when it happened.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Just after midnight, a Marion County Sheriff's deputy says he attempted to pull over a suspected DUII driver at Lancaster Drive and Sunnyview Drive in Salem.

But the suspect failed to yield to the traffic stop and a chase lasting 8.4 miles ensued through Salem and into Keizer. The Marion County Sheriff's Office says the attempt to elude officers ended abruptly.

Unusual DUII Arrest Reported at OSP Newport Office

The state police contracted cleaning employee was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.

(NEWPORT, Ore.) - Oregon State Police car door Intoxicated drivers are arrested everyday on our highways, but one could not imagine what an Oregon State Police (OSP) recruit found at the Newport Area Command office Tuesday evening.

Yesterday at approximately 7:00 PM, OSP Recruit Trooper Ian McKay says he was at the Newport office completing a report when a private contractor's cleaning employee drove there with her 12-year old son to clean the OSP office.

Driver Booked for DUII After Smashing Police Car

56-year old Diane Marie Nelson of Veneta was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants.

(VENETA, Ore.) - Wrecked Oregon State Police car An Oregon State Police trooper was not injured Thursday night when his patrol car was struck by an intoxicated driver as the trooper arrived upon the scene of a reported crash on Highway 126W about two miles east of Veneta.

At approximately 8:15 PM, OSP Senior Trooper Rick Hamilton was responding to the scene of a reported traffic crash on Highway 126W near Central Road.

New Mobile DUII Processing Center Will Speed Police Arrest Time

The MDPC is a 2007 36-foot Winnebago Voyage motor home retrofitted with all the equipment necessary to test and process intoxicated drivers

(SALEM, Ore.) - DUII mobile center Police and transportation officials in Oregon say the latest tool in the state's toolbox for fighting intoxicated drivers is the new mobile DUII processing center.

It is described as "a police station on wheels" and its mission is to help keep impaired drivers off Oregon highways during special events around the state.

Interlock Ignition Bill Inspired by MADD Passes Senate 30-0

House Bill 2774 is described as a positive step in reducing repeat drunk driving in Oregon.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Fatal crash near Grande Ronde, Feb 6th 2007 Oregon State Mothers Against Drunk Driving and Crime Victims United joined forces in providing extensive research and testimony on House Bill 2774 which extends the requirement for Ignition Interlock Devices for those convicted of driving drunk.

HB 2774 increases the time period for installation of the IID to one year for the first conviction and two years for the second and subsequent convictions. A sober driver must blow into the device and register little or no alcohol to allow the car to start; some devices require a combination of blowing, humming or sucking to start the vehicle.

Eugene Woman Faces Long List of Charges Following Rollover Crash

The woman was transported to Yamhill County Jail for DUII processing then taken to a local hospital for an examination of possible injuries related to the crash.

(McMINNVILLE, Ore. ) - osp duii photo A Eugene-area woman was arrested Thursday night for DUII and other charges after she was involved in a rollover crash on Highway 99W then drove her wrecked car about 1/2 mile causing pavement damage before she was stopped.

At approximately 9:40 PM a 2003 Toyota Corolla driven by 22-year-old Stefani Talbot, from Eugene, was involved in a rollover crash on Highway 99W near SE Yampo Road in Polk County.

Following the crash, Talbot then drove north about 1/2 mile on Highway 99W into Yamhill County on flat tires and bent axles.

Keizer Building Smashed by Car for the Second Time

The same building was struck by a driver fleeing Salem Police in 1992. Unlike that incident, today's crash did not involve a fatality.

(KEIZER) - police do not cross tape image Keizer Police officers responded to a report of a crash at 3380 River Road North, Dan’s Pawn Shop, Friday at 12:10 AM. A motor vehicle had crashed into the building, and a person calling 911 said the driver was trying to leave the incident.

Keizer Police Captain Jeff Kuhns says officers arrived on scene within three minutes and were able to contact the driver before she left. Kuhns says she was identified as 23-year old Carly Mamizuka of Salem. She had been operating a black 1996 GMC Sierra pick-up.

Salem Woman Driving Wrong Way on I-5 Kills Two Eugene Symphony Members

The northbound lanes on I-5 were closed until 3:00 AM as northbound traffic was diverted off at the Highway 34 interchange.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Fivea Sharipoff A Salem woman is in custody after a fatal head-on crash near Albany that killed two women. It happened late Sunday night on northbound Interstate 5.

The two victims are members of the Eugene Symphony returning to their homes after a Sunday rehearsal.
