Suspected Thief Giving Chase Jumps off Bridge Before Surrendering

The suspect used all of his options to evade capture.

(LYONS, Ore.) - Forrest Frost The suspect leapt about 30 feet into the Santiam River where he floated down river for several hundred yards, then swam to shore and fled on foot.

K9 teams from Marion County Sheriff's Office and the Salem Police Department tracked the suspect. Due to the heavily wooded and steep terrain, the Sheriff's Office SWAT Team was called in to search the area.

If any residents in the area of these incidents have surveillance cameras, investigators are asking them to check for any possible images of the suspect(s).

Murderer Robert Davis Sentenced to Life in Prison

The deadly shooting was related to a gang dispute.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Robert Gordon Davis To reach the 35-year sentence, which is greater than the 25-year minimum, the judge found that the defendant was persistently involved in similar crimes based on his previous convictions for Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Assault IV, Attempt Assault IV, Menacing, Resisting Arrest, Attempt Assault of a Public Safety Officer, and Strangulation.

This murder charge stemmed from a shooting on May 29, 2015 at 3184 Surfwood Dr NE, Salem, that caused the death of 24-year-old Jose Garcia-Roldan.

(SALEM, Ore.) - stranger danger A 9-year old child was walking from his residence to a bus stop near the intersection of Stellars Eagle St NW and Bald Eagle NW at about 8:30 am this morning when he was approached by an unknown male adult who grabbed his arm.

The child was able to pull away from the suspect, who then pushed the child to the ground. The child was able to get up and run away as the suspect followed in his vehicle.

Property Dispute Turns Into Dog-Napping Near Turner

The dog "Isis" is still missing and Ms Kempton will not reveal it's location.

(TURNER, Ore.) - missing dog Brooke Kempton went to her now ex-tenant's father's house, in the 4700 block of Marion Road SE the morning of April 26.

Ms. Kempton confronted 61-year old Kevin Taylor stating that his daughter, Kate Taylor stole two saddles and she was taking Ms. Taylor's dog until she got her saddles back.
