Health Advisory Issued for Water Contact at Cannon BeachSalem-News.comAlthough state officials discourage water contact, they continue to encourage other recreational activities on these beaches. (CANNON BEACH, Ore.) -
A public health advisory was issued today over higher-than-normal levels of bacteria in ocean waters at Cannon Beach. The high levels were found at the Gower Street beach access point.

Visitors to the Oregon coast near Arch Cape south of Cannon Beach in Clatsop County, discovered a pair of cannon buried in the beach sand. Natural erosion revealed the artifacts over the weekend.

A health advisory for contact with marine water at Cannon Beach in Clatsop County was lifted today by the Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS), in conjunction with the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and Oregon Parks and Recreation Department.
