Wife Finds Seriously Injured Husband Following Overnight DUII Crash Near Canby

Police say the man talked to his wife prior to 2:30 AM and was enroute home, after getting off work at a Canby-areas restaurant.

(CANBY, Ore.) - Crash near Canby, Oregon 12-29-08 A Portland-area man was found seriously injured by his wife Tuesday morning in a field near a church following an alcohol-involved overnight single vehicle crash along Highway 99E north of Canby.

Oregon State Police Recruit Trooper Dessa DeForest says around 7:15 AM, a report was received of a vehicle in an open field next to the Church of the Nazarene east of Highway 99E near E. Territorial Road.

"Police and fire personnel responded to the scene and found a 1990 Jeep Cherokee with a seriously injured male driver inside about 125 feet off the highway."

Firefighters Extinguish Blaze in Canby Duplex (PHOTOS)

(CANBY, Ore.) - Fire in Canby, Oregon, 12-10-08 The Canby Fire District responded to a Residential duplex on fire in the 300 block of South Manzanita Wednesday morning at 6:00 AM, according to Fire District Spokesman Troy Buzalsky.

He says that when fire fighter arrived on the scene, they reported large flames coming from the window of the home.

"They quickly asked for a second alarm. It took 25 firefighters from Canby, CCFD #1 and TVFR 30 min before they could gain control of the fire," Buzalsky said. Two adults and two children escaped from the home with one person sustaining minor injuries.

19-Year Old Canby Woman Missing Since Wednesday
*UPDATE* FOUND

Missing Canby nineteen-year old, Alicia Morgan, has been located on Courtney Road in Milwaukie. Police say she is no longer of interest and has been returned to her parents in Canby.

(CANBY, Ore.) - 19-year old Alicia Morgan is missing from the Canby, Oregon area. *UPDATE: FOUND*
A 19-year old woman from Canby is missing and police are hoping someone in the community knows the whereabouts of Alicia Morgan. She suffers from autism and was last seen November 12th 2008.

Officers with the Canby Police Department responded to the address on NW Knights Bridge Road Friday on a missing person call. Nineteen year old Alicia Morgan, who has autism, was last seen leaving the residence on Wednesday morning. Police say they are not sure what type of clothing Alicia was wearing.

Sgt. Scott Cunningham says the investigation into the whereabouts of Alicia Morgan is ongoing.

Fiery Crash Involving Car and Train Leave Two Dead

One occupant narrowly escaped being hit by the train, while two perished.

(CANBY, Ore.) - Salem-News.com An Amtrak train struck a car Friday night at the Canby intersection of NE 4th Ave and Hwy 99E, at about 10:20 PM. The vehicle erupted in flames upon impact, and was pushed nearly 1450 feet down the train tracks, burning the entire time.

Canby Police Arrest Suspect Over Tire Iron Assault

The men who were attacked received non life-threatening injuries.

(CANBY, Ore.) - Bryce N. Deller Police say one man is in custody for hitting two Canby men with a tire iron at 1802 N Pine Street in Canby. They say Bryce N. Deller of Canby was arrested for Assault II of the the assault that happened June 3rd at 10:45 PM.

Detective Chris Mead with Canby Police says Deller allegedly approached the victims and began to argue with them over some issues with his girlfriend.

Canby Firefighters Execute Difficult Jaws of Life Recovery

The firefighters had a job on their hands; keeping the car from tipping over during the unusual rescue operation.

(CANBY, Ore.) - Rollover crash near Canby, Oregon. 4-21-08 Canby Fire District rescue team members responded to a rollover accident this morning on 99E north of Canby. The circumstances with the rolled car proved to be a challenge.

Deputy Fire Marshal Todd Gary says firefighters arrived to find the vehicle on its side in a unstable position. He says they where then confronted with the question of how to extricate the driver from the vehicle.

Sick Morons Molest and Mutilate Mallard Ducks in Oregon Park

(CANBY, Ore.) - Photos of mutilated ducks at Canby, Oregon 3-6--08 Police say a mother mallard duck was mutilated at the Canby City Park by two male juveniles Thursday, who were skipping classes from Canby High School. The crime happened shortly after 9:00 AM.

Canby Police Detective Chris Mead says they were notified "of this horrific crime by another Canby High School student, who contacted the Canby Police School Resource Officer who is assigned at the school."

Canby Residents Evacuated Over Gas Leak

Canby Fire experienced just such an event in April of 2007 when a home being ventilated to remove excessive Natural Gas exploded with three firefighters inside.

(CANBY, Ore.) - Gas leak in Canby, Oregon 3-3-08 It took emergency crews two hours to resolve a natural gas leak today in Canby. This is a community sensitive to this danger after a natural gas explosion last year that happened in a home occupied by Canby firefighters.

During this incident today at at 1470 SE 11th, one entire street-side was evacuated, four homes had electricity shut down, and one handicapped occupant and his caregiver had to relocated.

Woman Dies From Car Jamming Under Semi Trailer

Oregon State Police troopers are continuing the investigation and no enforcement action has been taken. It happened Friday at approximately 3:30 PM.

Canby Police Investigating Person impersonating a Canby Utility Worker

The residents did not see any Canby Utility vehicles in the area, but did see a dark colored older Honda car in the area.

(CANBY, Ore.) - Canby Police responded to Canby Utility January 25th on the report of a subject impersonating one of their workers. Canby Utility reported they had received a call from a concerned customer who resides in the 300 block of South Knott Street, regarding a subject that stated he was a Canby Utility worker.

Canby Police say the subject asked the customer to enter the residence to check the water for high levels of Chlorine. The residents asked the subject for identification and he presented an ID card that showed an emblem that would possibly match the Canby Utility logo, but it was older looking.
