Hood River Power Outage Caused by Metallic Balloon

There are about 30 of these "balloon" outages a year, just in the Hood River area.

(HOOD RIVER, Ore.) - Mylar balloon A power outage that disrupted life in Hood River Nov. 12 was caused by a metallic-skinned helium balloon that got away.

The balloon from a nearby celebration apparently blew into a substation and made contact with electrical equipment and caused a short. Response came quickly and power was back on within 75 minutes. While rare, balloon-caused outages are regular occurrences.

(MENDOCINO, Calif.) - murderer trimmers Thursday afternoon at 3:39, Mendocino County Sheriff’s Deputies were summoned to a reported man who had been murdered on a remote property located in Laytonville, California.

Deputies responded to the scene confirming there was a male adult who was obviously deceased as a result of what appeared to be a violent assault.

Pesticide-Tainted Cannabis Sold at North Bend, Salem, Eugene Dispensaries

According to the OHA, the products were transferred with failed test results.

(SALEM, Ore.) - pesticide alert Two strains of cannabis (marijuana) flower that contained the pesticide piperonyl butoxide at levels exceeding regulations were sold at Stonies in North Bend, and at Green-Way Medicinal in Salem. According to officials, the strains were sold under the names Pleeze and Dryzl.

A third problematic strain was sold in Eugene. The dispensary Flowr of Lyfe sold one strain that contained the pesticide spinosad at levels exceeding regulations. The strain was sold under the name Dutch Treat.
