Plane Crashes on Willamette River Bar

Pilot and passenger both emerge from the wreckage uninjured

(St. Paul) - Piper Cub resting on a Willamette River bar near St. Paul State police say two people were not injured Sunday morning when their small plane flipped onto its top while trying to land on a Willamette River gravel bar near San Salvadore County Park west of St. Paul.

Around 12:15 PM, Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife Troopers Adam Turnbo and Todd Hoodenpyl were on boat patrol in the Willamette River when they came upon the scene of the non-injury plane crash on a gravel bar.

Navy Plane Crashes in Oregon, Four Escape

Navy Orders E-A-6-B Prowler Aircraft Grounded for Safety Review

(Pendleton AP) - EA6B Prowler A Navy jet crashed Friday during a training mission in a remote northeastern corner of Oregon.

Authorities say all four crew members ejected safely, though one member suffered a broken leg.

The E-A-6-B Prowler from the Naval Air Station at Whidbey Island crashed north of Pendleton near the Washington state border.

Man Walks Away From Plane Crash

(Hillsboro) - The pilot and sole occupant of a plane survived a crash Thursday near Hillsboro. Around 9:09 AM, Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff's Office and Firefighters from Washington County Fire District #2, responded to the scene of the crash in unincorporated Washington County.

Deputies say they received a report from the Portland Airport tower that a "mayday" was broadcast, and an Emergency Location Transmitter (ELT) had been activated in the area of the Twin Oaks Airport.
