Thousands Fill the Streets for Salem`s Women`s March

Freedom is always worth marching for.

(SALEM, Ore.) - salem women's march What an unbelievable turnout in Oregon’s capitol city! The national Women's March on Washington had sister marches all over the country- millions of women and men standing together against inequality, disrespect, misogyny and in unison to improve the situation at hand.

"Stronger Together!" is the chant heard at every event, in dozens of cities, in every state. We shall overcome.

Man Survives Throat Slashing Outside Burger King

The suspect is in custody.

(McMINNVILLE, Ore.) - Burger King stabbing A Burger King employee was stabbed outside the restaurant in north McMinnville this evening. The incident began across the highway in the WalMart parking lot, at the coffee stand, and appears to be random.

“The suspect was lurking around where I work and trying to come in our door,” wrote Jordan Schnepp on the YamCo facebook page. He works at the coffee stand.

Pesticide-Tainted Cannabis Sold at North Bend, Salem, Eugene Dispensaries

According to the OHA, the products were transferred with failed test results.

(SALEM, Ore.) - pesticide alert Two strains of cannabis (marijuana) flower that contained the pesticide piperonyl butoxide at levels exceeding regulations were sold at Stonies in North Bend, and at Green-Way Medicinal in Salem. According to officials, the strains were sold under the names Pleeze and Dryzl.

A third problematic strain was sold in Eugene. The dispensary Flowr of Lyfe sold one strain that contained the pesticide spinosad at levels exceeding regulations. The strain was sold under the name Dutch Treat.

OLCC Rules Out Many Cannabis Strain Names with Attractiveness to Children Standard

Rules for narrowing the acceptable strain names and testing and labeling marijuana items keep business owners jumping.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Dr Who cannabis strain Few, if any, businesses have had to jump through the amount of hoops thrown at those engaged in Oregon's cannabis industry.

Vandalism at Cape Kiwanda Destroys Duckbill Formation

Vandals crossed a fence put there for safety, and then destroyed the landmark.

(PACIFIC CITY, Ore.) - Duckbill sand structure A natural rock formation at Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area was found in pieces last week. The park is on the Oregon coast in southern Tillamook County.

The sandstone pedestal, known locally as the duckbill and roughly 7-10' across, was located in an area of the park fenced off for safety.

Bonnie King`s career is unique, she is one of the few media professionals who has extensive time in four relevant areas; radio, television, newspaper and Internet. She has been with Salem-News.com since August 2004.

Her television career began in 1988, at Lincoln City, Oregon`s cable TV station, TV 10, in dual roles as News Anchor and Sales/Promotion Director. This was a natural evolution of her journalistic aspirations, since she was first "bit by the bug" while serving as Editor in Chief of her high school yearbook for two years. She graduated from Bassist College in Portland, Oregon in 1986.

Bonnie has interviewed legends like Aaron Spelling, Hugh Miles and Peter Frampton; Nadia Komenich, the feisty Judge Mills Lane, and the stars from CHARMED, FELICITY, ROSWELL, 7TH HEAVEN and BUFFY the VAMPIRE SLAYER. She has interviewed Oregon`s governors and congressmen, and she was part of the award-winning NBC news crew that first spoke to Evander Holyfield the night of the notorious Tyson ear-biting incident.

Her first full length documentary, `Fallen Fortress at Cape Lookout` aired on Oregon Public Broadcasting in 1993, for which she was the Producer. She is presently working on two Oregon based historical documentaries, and is an integral force in civil and human rights causes.

Bonnie has served in a number of positions in the broadcast industry; TV Production Manager at KVWB (Las Vegas WB) and Producer/Director for the TV series "Hot Wheels in Las Vegas" (2 seasons); TV Promotion Director for KYMA (NBC), and KFBT (Ind.); Asst. Marketing Director (SUPERSHOPPER MAGAZINE); Director/Co-Host (Coast Entertainment Show); Promotion Director (KBCH/KCRF Radio); and, Newspapers In Education/Circulation Sales Manager (STATESMAN JOURNAL NEWSPAPER).

Bonnie has a depth of understanding that reaches further than just behind the scenes, and that thoroughness of her nature is demonstrated in the perseverance to correctly present each story with the wit and wisdom necessary to compel and captivate viewers.
