Flasher Runs From Woman with Tazer, Jumps Fence (VIDEO)

Salem police are looking for a man who "flashed" a woman on/near High Street. She flashed her Tazer and he ran.

(SALEM) - flasher in Salem, Oregon A woman in downtown Salem was getting into her car at the mall when a man pressed his naked genitals up against her window, according to reports.

She apparently responded by grabbing a Tazer and chasing after the flasher; she may even have tazed him, which is not yet confirmed. The nearly naked man allegedly ran from the infuriated woman and escaped her wrath by jumping over a fence near Willow and High Streets in NE Salem.

Medical Marijuana Dispensaries Stay Open in Marion County Amid Resolution Against Them

Will this anti-dispensary resolution affect the unincorporated areas of Marion County? Most likely.

(SALEM) - Jason Myers The subject in front of the Marion County Commissioners was not about recreational marijuana. They convened to discuss making an official resolution against legal medical marijuana patients having access to medicine via dispensaries.

Knowing full well that no pharmacy can sell cannabis to patients, they want the world to know that they are against dispensaries in this county, regardless of the risk of harm to its citizens.

Medical Marijuana Advocates Meet Wednesday to Keep Dispensaries Open in Salem

Patients and dispensary owners say the Commissioner's meeting was kept very quiet, until now.

(SALEM) - medical marijuana dispensaries Last August, Governor Kitzhaber signed a Medical Marijuana dispensaries bill into law. House Bill 3460 was supported of Oregon’s Attorney General, Ellen Rosenblum.

Today, in a rather bizarre turn of events, we received word that the Marion County Commissioners are meeting at 9 a.m. tomorrow morning and will apparently be discussing the elimination of dispensaries in Salem, Oregon, which are presently operating "in the gray area" as they have for the last couple of years.

As long as there are bullies—and they will not disappear easily in a society in which the familial fabric has become so torn and loosened—learning a little self-defense can do no harm. Older children should mentor the younger and watch out for the signs of bullying.

When children—the hope of the future—are driven to killing themselves because of the relentless unchecked cruelties of bullies, perhaps it is time to encourage mentoring to protect the vulnerable.

Phone Stolen from Child of Murder Victim on Christmas Night

It is hard to be one step ahead when you don’t think like a thief.

(SALEM) - Jessie Doyle Cavett Last night, the Grinch showed up in Redmond, Oregon. On Christmas night, a precious little girl who recently lost her mother had her phone, gifts and personal belongings stolen from the family’s vehicle.

27-year old Jessie Doyle Cavett was murdered by her estranged husband on October 12, 2013. Her two children were at the scene, and daughter Peyton was able to call for help. That is an amazing feat in itself, rising above the trauma and finding the rational thought to immediately use the phone. It was especially mature for someone her age. Peyton is five.

Bonnie King`s career is unique, she is one of the few media professionals who has extensive time in four relevant areas; radio, television, newspaper and Internet. She has been with Salem-News.com since August 2004.

Her television career began in 1988, at Lincoln City, Oregon`s cable TV station, TV 10, in dual roles as News Anchor and Sales/Promotion Director. This was a natural evolution of her journalistic aspirations, since she was first "bit by the bug" while serving as Editor in Chief of her high school yearbook for two years. She graduated from Bassist College in Portland, Oregon in 1986.

Bonnie has interviewed legends like Aaron Spelling, Hugh Miles and Peter Frampton; Nadia Komenich, the feisty Judge Mills Lane, and the stars from CHARMED, FELICITY, ROSWELL, 7TH HEAVEN and BUFFY the VAMPIRE SLAYER. She has interviewed Oregon`s governors and congressmen, and she was part of the award-winning NBC news crew that first spoke to Evander Holyfield the night of the notorious Tyson ear-biting incident.

Her first full length documentary, `Fallen Fortress at Cape Lookout` aired on Oregon Public Broadcasting in 1993, for which she was the Producer. She is presently working on two Oregon based historical documentaries, and is an integral force in civil and human rights causes.

Bonnie has served in a number of positions in the broadcast industry; TV Production Manager at KVWB (Las Vegas WB) and Producer/Director for the TV series "Hot Wheels in Las Vegas" (2 seasons); TV Promotion Director for KYMA (NBC), and KFBT (Ind.); Asst. Marketing Director (SUPERSHOPPER MAGAZINE); Director/Co-Host (Coast Entertainment Show); Promotion Director (KBCH/KCRF Radio); and, Newspapers In Education/Circulation Sales Manager (STATESMAN JOURNAL NEWSPAPER).

Bonnie has a depth of understanding that reaches further than just behind the scenes, and that thoroughness of her nature is demonstrated in the perseverance to correctly present each story with the wit and wisdom necessary to compel and captivate viewers.
