(SALEM) - The Salem Police Department is having its 3rd Annual Open House on Saturday, September 16th at Riverfront Park.

The Open House is an opportunity for the community to discover the many services and resources of their local law enforcement agency.

The event will also be an opportunity to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the department’s proven crime prevention program, Neighborhood Watch.

A special commemorative ceremony will take place with Mayor Janet Taylor and Police Chief Jerry Moore.

Scheduled demonstrations by Salem Police Department specialty units include: Bomb Squad, K9 and S.W.A.T.

Garten Services will be onsite to provide document shredding that helps to reduce the opportunity for identity theft.
