(SHERWOOD, Ore.) - On Thursday, September 30, 2010, at about 5:37 p.m., Sheriff's deputies were called to a crash on SW Highway 99 and SW Chapman Road. This area is in unincorporated Washington County south of the City of Sherwood. Deputies investigating the crash determined that a silver Chrysler Concord, driven by 19-year-old Angelica Armijo of Sherwood, pulled out in front of a 1976 Chevrolet C-60 dump truck driven by 52-year-old Ronald Koch of St. Paul. Ms. Armijo was attempting to cross the southbound lanes of Highway 99 and continue on SW Chapman Road. She pulled out in front of Mr. Koch who could not avoid the collision. The truck rolled once and came to rest on its wheels. The car spun out into the center median. Both vehicles only contained the driver and both drivers were transported to area hospitals, they are both expected to live. The crash had Highway 99 closed during the investigation in order to clear the road of vehicles and debris. No one has been cited at this time.
