$500 REWARD: For Information about Illegal Deer Kill in Harney County

Officials say the deer was shot sometime during the evening of September 17 or the morning of September 18, 2010.

(BURNS, Ore.) - Oregon State Police (OSP) Fish and Wildlife Division troopers from the Burns work site are asking for the public's help to identify the suspect(s) responsible for an illegal deer kill that occurred within the city limits of Hines, Oregon.

A reward of up to $500 for information leading to an arrest in this case is being offered by the Oregon Hunters Association Turn in a Poacher (T.I.P.) Program. The T.I.P. reward program pays for information leading to the arrest and conviction of person(s) involved in the illegal killing, taking, possession or waste of big game animals, upland game birds or waterfowl.

According to Trooper Andrew McClay, on September 18, 2010 Fish and Wildlife Division troopers from the Burns work site received information that a buck deer had been shot within the city limits of Hines, Oregon.

Troopers responded and found the deer which had been shot in the head with an arrow. Investigating officers believe the deer had been shot sometime during the evening of September 17 or the morning of September 18, 2010.
