Vic your words speak for themselves, no assessment is needed.

Well "Percy"...my predictions re the Iraq war were right on..even with my lack of "expertise" and the "Expert" Rumsfeld was way off on EVERY count....so there is your "expertise". Funny how you do not challenge anything I said, but resort to a cheap shot. Typical warmonger....dont let facts get in the way.

Vic thanks for sharing your [level] of "expertise!"

Actually Sanchez, I absolutely agree with the scenario you suggested! Can you imagine the wealth and benefits we could have if we wernt trying to police and subjugate the world? It really hasnt worked, seems to me. Seven hundred and sixty one bases around the world..for what? I am all for a well equipped and well supported military..whatever is needed to protect our country from attack. Does having bases in Korea or Japan or Germany have any relevance now? I honestly do not know, but I doubt it. "Peace, commerce and honest friendship with all nations; entangling alliances with none." Thomas Jefferson

Joe and Vic: So what's your view on pulling out of Korea, Japan, all of Europe , cease all operations in Africa and literally all other areas of the world? Then to conserve energy and keep the planet more green, have all naval ships brought back to their respective home ports and keep all aircraft grounded? This would minimize our volunteer military from being exposed to that violent world out there. Maybe isolationism is the way to go, so what do you say? Just have a home guard and not do anything until some foreign military starts making a beach landing, then we protect ourselves? Maybe you could also share your expertise in military tactics/strategy coupled with fireign policy and international policies, etc. ?

Yep, the war machine keeps rollin' along....some democracy we have. "It is unknowable how long that conflict [the war in Iraq] will last. It could last six days, six weeks. I doubt six months." Donald Rumsfeld Feb. 2003

I thought the surge was over. 26 thousand people? That's incredible.
