(KEIZER, Ore.) - Oregon State Police Major Crimes Section (OSP MCS) detectives arrested an employee of the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) Wednesday afternoon following a two-day investigation into an alleged kidnap, sex abuse, and attempted sodomy. On September 29, 2010, OSP MCS detectives arrested Michael Scott James, age 45, for Kidnap in the First Degree, Attempted Sodomy in the First Degree, and Sex Abuse in the First Degree. Detectives started the investigation Monday following a reported incident that occurred early Sunday morning at James' Keizer-area residence. The 32-year old female victim is an acquaintance but does not reside with the suspect. James was arrested without incident at the DPSST facility where he worked for 1 1/2 years as a Training and Development Specialist in the Private Investigator / Private Security Program. DPSST fully cooperated with OSP during the investigation and Director Eriks Gabliks advised James will be placed on administrative leave. James was lodged at the Marion County Jail. No additional information is being released without approval of the Marion County District Attorney's Office pending an initial arraignment. Obviously he is not a sworn officer or OSP would have covered this up. Too bad they don't treat sworn officers the same way. The corruption in that place is awful.
