Myanmar's Maungtaw Refugees in Need of Food, Clothing

The people are undergoing hard times due to lack of job opportunities and need help, sources report.

(RANGOON, Burma) - Many of the refugees, who have been sent to back to their places from Maungtaw rescue camps, are in dire need of food and clothing, according to volunteers.

The resettlement of 2,286 refugees from 549 households began in the first week of September and ended on September 19.

But many of these refugees, whose houses were burnt down, found the reconstruction of their houses was yet to be finished. They are living in tents, sources said.

The people are undergoing hard times due to lack of job opportunities and need help, added the sources.
