(MOUNT ANGEL) - Just prior to 7:30 AM Monday, Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of Dominic Rd NE and Meridian Rd NE near Mt. Angel on a report of a multiple vehicle crash. Investigators say a 2004 Hyundai Tiburon, driven by 46-year-old Kimmaree Lewis, of Mt. Angel, was driving east on Dominic Rd NE and failed to stop at a stop sign at Meridian Rd, hitting a 1989 GMC pickup , driven by 33-year-old German Florez-Randon, of Woodburn, which was traveling south on Meridian Rd. The impact caused the pick-up to overturn and slide into the northbound lane and sideswipe a 1996 GMC Sierra, driven by Edward Duda, of Mt. Angel, which was traveling north on Meridian Rd. Passengers in the GMC pick-up were 21-year-old Jonathan Camacho-Rojas and 23-year-old Christian Patao, both of Woodburn. The pick-up came to a stop on its top and began burning. All three occupants of the truck were able to get out before fire and medics arrived. Rendon and Rojas were transported to Salem hospital with minor injuries. Patao sustained severs burns to his hands and face and was transported to Emanuel Hospital where he received treatment for those injuries. All those transported by medics are in stable condition and are expected to recover from their injuries. Lewis received only minor bumps and bruises and Duda had no apparent injuries. Lewis was cited for Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device.
