Salem Fire Called Out to Multiple Fires Overnight

Salem Fire crews were kept busy moving from one fire to the next early Monday morning.

(SALEM) - Salem Fire Department teams rolled out at 12:34 AM Monday morning to an apartment fire at 3672 Beverly Avenue NE.

Initial reports indicated that flames were observed shooting out downstairs bedroom window.

Crews were still on scene at 2:00 AM though most had rolled to a separate fire at 790 Bieber Street NE.

The call came in at 1:58 AM.

Salem Fire Department Spokesman Bill Holmstrom says this is a 2-alarm fire with flames showing.

We will bring you more information is it is released.

One thing that people should realize about fires. Occasionally they are set by young firefighters who want some excitement and then get rewarded afterwards for putting out the fire. This is obviously not the major cause of fires but many young firemen have been arrested for doing this (a minority of them but something to make a note about).
