Oregon's Modified Dolls Help Fight Cancer with Charity Event

“Keep Calm and Battle On!” is the warcry of Modified Dolls, as they reach out to others in need.

Big charity event is Saturday, Sept 28 @ TNT Tavern. Be there!

(SALEM, Ore.) - The Oregon Modified Dolls are hosting a charity event benefiting The American Cancer Society in Salem next weekend, and anyone over 21 is invited to stop by to see all the action.

This special event will feature a 250-pound pig roast with all the fixings that will be available for a $5 suggested donation, and TNT Hollywood Tavern has graciously donated a beer garden which will be covered, in case of inclement weather.

Who are the Modified Dolls? It may be self-explanatory, should you have met the Dolls. All Dolls are women 18-and over, that have at least 5 visible body modifications, or a large tattoo piece covering an ample area. She is a stand up woman that shows her modifications proudly, and wants to be treated with respect.

The Modified Dolls are a worldwide non-profit organization that chooses a different charity to support every month. Their mission is to demolish the negative stereotypes associated with being a modified woman by doing charity work.

"We are the Different Making a Difference!" and they want to help the community make a difference too.

This all-day event will also include a DJ and a live auction.

Up for bid in the auction, so far, are a myriad of items from a romantic getaway to a bench for your garden. Local businesses have risen to the occasion for this important cause, such as the Red Lion in Salem with a package that includes accommodations and dinner for two.

There is also a spa facial from Trends full service salon, local art, gift certificates to Kirk’s Ferry Trading Post and much, much more!

Proceeds from this 21 and over event will be donated to The American Cancer Society in memory of Carla Wood. "Carla was a great friend and a selfless giver," said Jessye Gresswell "Danger", of the Oregon Modified Dolls.

Carla Wood was born on June 6th 1955, and did many wonderful things in her life. Before her death June 17, 2012, her most recent joys included spending as much time as she could with her family and making blankets to comfort children with cancer. She is an inspiration to many.
