More Oregon Guard Soldiers Will Head for Iraq

A mobilization order is still needed to establish specific time frames and location of duty.

(SALEM, Ore.) - The Department of Defense has alerted more than 3,500 Citizen Soldiers of the Army National Guard's 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team for possible mobilization affecting the 3-116 Cavalry in Eastern Oregon. The Cavalry Brigade is scheduled to be comprised of approximately 800 Oregon Guard members with the remainder being from Idaho and Montana. Oregon's 3-116 Cavalry is comprised of:
A 3-116 CAV Dalles, Oregon
B 3-116 CAV Redmond, Oregon
C 3-116 CAV Ontario, Oregon
D 3-116 CAV Hermiston, Oregon
HHC 3-116 CAV La Grande, Oregon Supporting the 3-116 is F/145 with detachments throughout Eastern Oregon. The 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team, headquartered in Idaho, will be commanded by Col. Guy Thomas, and is the largest Idaho National Guard unit. This alert notification does not guarantee the 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team will be deployed. It is only an alert.

A mobilization order is needed to establish specific time frames and location of duty. Such order has yet to be issued.

Any new updates on the idea of Afghanistan? I have heard that is might change to be Afghanistan? Currently Im stationed in Iraq.

We are deploying next fall. Doing the summer training, then taking a few days rest then back to it. Leaving 9/11/10 to Mississippi to train. 42 days out suppose to head for Iraq. Latest that I know
