(COOS BAY, OR) - On Sunday, September 2, 2012, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the Coos County 911 Center began receiving numerous calls indicating two bodies were lying on or next to Highway 101 just north of the Seven Devils Road intersection near Bandon. At least one call described some sort of altercation at that location and reported hearing gun shots. A vehicle description was given by at least one the callers.

Police and medical personnel responded to the scene and found two white male adults at that location. One was identified as Myrtle Creek resident George Micheaux III, born in 1993, who was pronounced dead at the scene and appeared to have been shot. Also found at the scene was Myrtle Creek resident Milton Chester Leach, born in 1942, with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. He was initially transported to Bay Area Hospital and then taken by air ambulance to Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland. At last report he was in critical condition.

Police began an immediate search for the vehicle in question and located it within an hour of the first 911 call off a spur road from the main drive leading to Belloni's Ranch. The area where the vehicle was found is several miles north of the scene where Mr. Leach and Mr. Micheaux were located. Officers from Oregon State Police and Coos County Sheriff's Office found two adult females and Myrtle Creek resident Timothy Allen Henson, born in 1969.

The initial investigation suggests an altercation occurred in the vehicle as it was driving north on Highway 101 with all five people in the vehicle. The five occupants were known to each other and are believed to reside on the same property in Myrtle Creek. At some point in time a gun was produced and fired inside the car, which then stopped. The investigation is continuing but initially it appears that Mr. Leach and Mr. Micheaux were both shot while outside of the vehicle after it stopped. One of the female passengers also suffered a gunshot wound to her forearm believed to have happened during the initial altercation inside the vehicle before it stopped. The vehicle then left the scene with Mr. Henson and the two females before being located by officers.

Mr. Henson was transported to the Coos County Jail and lodged on the following charges: * One count of Murder alleging Mr. Micheaux as the victim

* One count of attempted murder alleging Mr. Leach as the victim

* One count of Assault in the Second Degree for the wounding of the female victim

Coos County District Attorney R. Paul Frasier anticipates Mr. Henson will be arraigned sometime on Tuesday September 4, 2012.

The Oregon State Police Criminal Investigation Division is the lead investigating agency on this case utilizing detectives from Coos Bay, Roseburg and Springfield. Assisting during this investigation and incident response are Coos County Sheriff's Office, Coos Bay Police Department, Bandon Police Department, Coquille Tribal Police, Coos County Medical Examiner's Office, and Coos County District Attorney's Office.
